The end of September is nigh (aka tomorrow), so it's time to round up all of Instagram pics into a post and share with you a few things I got up during September. I feel like half of the month was spent being very sick with a flu that just didn't want to leave my body, so there is a few less photos than previous months!

These weeks just need to slow down a bit; I honestly can't even fathom that it is the end of September in a couple of days! The WPC has hit number 22 (cue T-Swift), and if you'd like you can catch up on the last week of posts here. This week had a combination of my favourite things; new books, and lots of makeup talk!

Nail polish is one of my vices, so when I saw these relatively new Ulta3 polishes at Postie, I couldn't help but grab a few to try out. The colour range is awesome, and there is a great mix of cream colours, metallics, and some really amazing glitters. The best part is these are only $4 a bottle!

I adore mascaras; I love trying out new ones and I love ones that do as they promise on the packaging. I've been using this Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara on and off over the past few months, initially I didn't have a lot of hope for it but it has thoroughly impressed and surprised me!

e.l.f. and I have a very strong relationship; I use various e.l.f. products on a daily basis and because you can get them so cheap, I love trying out different things from the huge range. iHerb stocks a lot of the kits and packs, such as this 5 piece 'Get The Look Kit'. At a price of USD $5.00, and in the midst of doing a very large iHerb haul (see the aftermath here), I added this one to the cart to try out.

Art and Architecture books take up the majority of my book shelf, which comes as no surprise as I have a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and am 6 weeks off completing my BA in Art History. My book collection has been growing and growing since I started uni six years ago (has it really been that long?), and beside makeup and nail polishes, I am constantly buying new books here and there. Book Depository is my favourite place to shop online for books as they are so cheap and they have free worldwide shipping, but I also love book sales and often Whitcoulls and Paper Plus have some amazing bargain books which is where I recently picked up these four new books.

My obsession with Essie polishes grows on the daily and they are fast becoming one of my favourite brand. I've talked about these before on my blog, but they've been quite brief in haul posts so I thought I should do a more in-depth review of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, as well as share some swatches of the five that I've got in my collection.

Makeup Revolution has been on my radar ever since it began earlier in the year. I first heard of them after they started following me on Twitter (shameless plug), and after that, they were cropping up on so many UK blogs. It's UK based brand and is much like MUA [makeup Academy] offering very affordable makeup products. Makeup Revolution has many 'dupes' or copies of higher-end brands, they offer the Iconic 1, 2 + 3 palettes, that have almost identical colours to the Urban Decay ones, and there is also a very similar I Heart Chocolate palette à la Too Faced - and that's just the beginning with lots products that make you think "I'm sure I've seen that before...". Prices start at £1, and a couple of weeks ago they had free international shipping with orders over £20, so I finally made the plunge and ordered a few products to try out.

Last week I was hit with an extremely nasty bout of the flu, which couldn't have come at a better time - uni started back after the mid-semester break, which meant a test and an essay due, all at once. I've been through about four boxes of tissues (thank god for aloe vera ones) and have a nasty smoker's cough going on right now, but in my bed ridden state last week I was inspired to write this particular post - makeup tips for when you feel like s**t and actually have to leave your house and act slash look like a normal person.

The WPC has hit the big 2-0!! This week was a bit of a crappy one; a horrible flu kicked in on Sunday, and on Monday I couldn't even get out of bed or manage much at all, so there was no blog post. But by Tuesday I was starting to get a bit more energy and normal posting commenced! Here is the post round up from the past week on CM...

This manicure was utterly inspired by Lily Pebbles's Split Pastel Nails she featured a couple of months ago on her blog. It seemed like a simple way to incorporate two shades, and it makes it look like you put in a lot of effort into your manicure (when really you didn't!)

My collection of Kleancolor polishes seems to growing at a bit of a rapid rate now that I have been finding more shades are available at Postie! It seems whenever I go in there I come out with at least one, and on this particular occasion I came out with three, I mean they were on sale and were only $3 each!

When it comes to makeup items, mascara is one of my all time favourites. I think you can put on all the foundation, blush, bronzer [etc..] on in the world but never be complete with a good coating of mascara (or three). I love testing out new ones, but once you open a tube you gotta use it quick or else you can be left with a dried out mess in no time. I've had this particular one from Maybelline stashed away for a while and have been using it over the past couple of months, so here is my final verdict.

If you are after affordable, but high quality makeup products, look no further than e.l.f. (eyelipsface). It is no secret that I love many things from this brand, and today I'm comin' attcha with my Top 5 from the brand. This was definitely a hard one to narrow down and I've cheated a little by adding in some honorable mentions at the end. They're also in no particular order, because ranking them would be an even harder task!

Another week has gone and on Monday we welcomed in the first day of September and the first day of Spring as well! I've been busy writing an essay, studying (and also procrastinating a lot), but I still had plenty of time for blogging!

Lately I've become a palette obsessed maniac and am having a bout of the 'gotta catch 'em all' type mentality. There is something about a beautiful selection of eye shadow shades all encased in gorgeous packaging that just gets my beauty lovin' heart beating and are products I can't resist. In a recent order from Beauty.com I was in this state of mind; I saw this NARS palette and it was instantly added to my cart. Excitement levels were at an all time high because this was to be the very first NARS product to make it into my makeup collection!

On Tuesday I posted my End of Month review for the July Goodie Box and mentioned that the August box had been delivered. It was unexpected as I thought I had cancelled it but it turns out I hadn't cancelled before the cut off date. I'm not too bothered about it and this box does look like a promising one! This service is only available in NZ and costs $33.50 (including shipping), it is delivered at the end of each month, hence why I this is the August box, but it is actually September!

Whilst going through my eye shadows recently I came across this particular Maybelline Eye Studio Quad and it sparked an idea in my head; the classic #throwbackthursday (or TBT) post. Why post pictures of me looking super dorky with braces and a bad fringe when I could post about makeup that gives me a bit of nostalgia. I think I got this for Christmas from my sister, a good few years back. I've got fond memories of this particular quad as it was one of maybe two or three that I owned at the time, among some lip gloss, black eyeliner, a mascara, and a pressed powder (that I had no idea what to do with).

This box caused quite the stir in the NZ beauty world and I think Goodie Box received a lot of negative feedback purely as they had hyped up their 'birthday box' so much. It is understandable and I wasn't the only one feeling a little underwhelmed and let down by what was promised. This service costs $33.50, including postage and the overall value of this box came in at around $93.00, which isn't anything to turn your nose up at. A couple of the products I ended up really liking and a few left me feeling pretty ho-hum.

I've had a thing for grey nail polishes ever since I really began to get into them many, many years ago. I love the neutral tone and that it isn't as harsh as black can be on the nails (but don't get me wrong I love a good black manicure!) To 'jazz' it up a bit I added an extremely glitzy and glittery polish from China Glaze as an accent nail.

As it's the first day of Spring (I can't quite believe that, but I'm rollin' with it), I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share the brand new lipstick shade from Karen Murrell that is being released today! It's aptly called Sugar Rush* and it is fast becoming my go-to pink lipstick as we start heading into some warmer weather.
