MAYBELLINE | Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow Leather - Review + Swatches

MAYBELLINE | Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow Leather - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

Earlier this year Maybelline dropped a truckload of new releases here in NZ (see them here) and a lot of them I have been really loving. I was already a big fan of the Color Tattoo line (see my collection with swatches here), but in this new release, they brought out four new shades in the Leather finish*, and these become fast favourites.

The Color Tattoos come in quite a hefty little glass pot with a simple screw lid. One tip with these is to screw the top on as tight as you can as the more the air gets to them the faster they can dry out. I really like the packaging of them, the colour is easily visible on the underside and they're easy to get your brush or finger in there.

The original range of Color Tattoos mostly have a metallic/shimmer finish to them, but the Leather range welcomes some more matte shades in staple everyday colours. These cream shadows are lovely to use; they are very creamy when you first apply them but take about 30 -50 seconds to set down on the lids, so you only have a short amount of time to blend out the colour. You can apply them with a dense brush for a sheerer application or pack the colour on with your finger for ample colour pay off. These are good for oily lidded girls as they don't crease and they last all day on the eyes.

The new shades include; 80 Creamy Beige, 90 Vintage Plum, 95 Chocolate Suede (please excuse the typo in the swatch image I only just noticed it!) and 100 Dramatic Black. Apart from Chocolate Suede which has a more satin finish and is absolutely gorgeous on, the other three are matte colours. All make amazing base shadows or work well on their own. They can also be used as liners, particularly the new black shade.

They are about $13.99 in store, or you can find some shades online at Beauty Bliss.
