A couple of weeks back I was lucky enough to attend an incredible launch with Maybelline, not only have they got heaps of new products coming out (more information on those will come soon), but they also launched their new slogan and initiative 'Make It Happen'. Gone are the 'Maybe She's Born With It' days, Make It Happen is all about empowering women and young girls with the confidence to achieve anything that they set their mind too. For this new launch they are looking for six kiwi girls who would act as ambassadors for the brand with Maybelline and Miss FQ, supporting them to achieve their dreams in whatever field they are passionate about. One thing I love doing is treating myself to a good face mask as a bit of pampering and relaxation for my skin. I try to do one at least once a week, sometimes even twice a week depending on how my skin is doing and whether it needs some extra attention. After the hype of the Manuka Doctor ApiClear Purifying Facial Peel Mask* (NZD $35.95), which I absolutely loved and have since finished, I was intrigued to try some of their other masks. It's a fun way to be introduced to new products and try things you may have otherwise not.

Just about every brand now are bringing out some sort of contouring and highlighting kit. It seems us beauty lovers can't get enough of them, I know I am a big fan of them and have been loving trying out the different offerings. UK based brand Collection have brought out their version* to the market, at a great price of NZD $21.99. But what's the quality like...?

I always get so excited when a brand like L'Oreal drops a whole lot of new product for us NZ beauty lovers to indulge in. In May I went along to a gorgeous brunch at Gusto at Sky City Grand and got to hear all about the new products launching and we were given a demonstration of the products by NZ makeup artist Lisa Matson who has been in the industry for over 20 years. She talked us through the new products as she applied them, and I couldn't wait to get home to try them for myself.

You could have all the expensive makeup in the world, but it's not going to apply well if you haven't got the right tools. A good makeup brush will do wonders to how product applies, and looks on the skin. The Beauty Collective through My Beauty Store have brought out the Simply Essential Pro Series Makeup Brushes* that are affordable, but high quality so you can get the most out of your makeup.

There's nothing like a good eyeshadow palette to get me excited! I am eyeshadow palette obsessed and have way too many for any normal person, but I just always love finding and adding new ones to my collection. Wearing eyeshadow on the daily means I've used my fair share of various brands, from the affordable to the expensive. Mellow Cosmetics, a NZ owned and operated company, offer this large Glam Squad Nude Beauty Palette*, which I received in the Best Beauty Box Ever Incredible Eyes Box* (reviews here). You might know Ardell for their false lashes, but now they have branched out to offer more cosmetics products in the form brow products. They've recently come out with a host of new brow bits so they are always looking #onfleek, with a pomade, brow kit, and brow gels. Read on to hear my thoughts on some of these new products.
