I'm going to take a guess and say that not many of you would have heard of the brand LAQA&Co. I was totally unaware of it until I received one of the Lip Lube Pencils in a Violet Box (sadly no longer operating) way back in July last year. I hadn't delved more into the brand because there were no NZ stockists, but I was contacted by Cosmic who have just started to stock the brand and they sent me a bunch of their products to try out.

LAQA&Co. started in New York, originally making nail polishes pens, but they have now branched into lip crayons, and the newly released Cheeky Lip, for both lips and cheeks (funny that!)

The packaging of the products is what grabbed me straight away - they're vibrant, unique and completely eye catching. They teams up with new emerging artists and promote their works on the packaging, with the artists getting a cut of the profits - how cool is that? It's definitely something I can get behind!

FAT LIP PENCIL*
After LAQA&Co. released the nail polish pen, this was the next product they brought out. Lip crayons really had a moment over the past couple of years and I have a fair few in my collection from various brands. I find them easy to apply and generally they have great formulas. These ones twist up from the bottom, so no need for sharpening, and it's clear to see what colour is what with the clear lids and colour indicator at the bottom. These have amazing pigmentation on one swipe, feel creamy to apply and have a glossy finish to them. These aren't the most long lasting, however they do leave a slight stain to the lips, especially these darker shades.

CHEEKY LIP*
As I mentioned earlier in the post, these are a new addition to the range, and can be used on the lips, or blended out on the cheeks as a cream blush. These have slightly different packaging, with the shiny gold exterior (which I love), but with the same twist up applicator. These ones have a matte finish on the lips, so they last a bit longer, and they pack it in the pigmentation department. On the cheeks, they don't blend out as well as some other cream blushes, but despite the pigmentation being so strong when you apply it on the lips, once you blend them out on the cheeks they leave a very subtle wash of colour, with a matte finish. But overall I am really impressed with them, and something that does two things is always a good thing!

LIP LUBE PENCIL*
These lip crayons get a big thumbs up from me, the packaging, I think, is amazing and I love that the exterior makes it clear what shade you're getting into it. It also differentiates them from the other lip crayons in the range. These are more on the sheer side of things compared to the Fat Lip Pencil, as you can see in the swatches. They're glossy, and light on the lips, and perfect for no fuss everyday wear. They also have a light peppermint scent which I love.

You can find these at Cosmic in NZ for $29.95 each; the Cheeky Lip isn't yet online but they will be coming soon.

What do you make of these lip products? Are you familiar with the brand at all?
