M.A.C aren't one to stop with the new releases over the Christmas period, instead they have been coming out thick and fast this past month, with more coming out in January (but more on them next month!) December sees the release of the Dark Desires and Fluidity Collection, which I have a few items from them both to share with you today.
The Dark Desires release came out on 7th December, only in selected M.A.C stores in Auckland. If you're lucky you should probably be able to get your hands on the collection still. It's a very dark and vampy collection as you might expect with a good range of products including; Into The Well Eye Shadow (6 shades, RRP $48.00), Kohl Power Eye Pencil (4 shades, RRP $36.00), Mascara (2 shades $48.00), Fluidline Eyeliner (RRP $38.00), Nail Lacquer (2 shades, RRP $26.00), and 246 Synthetic Fluffy Eye Brush (RRP $68.00).
Studio Eye Gloss in Erogenous Zone* | RRP $50.00
Erogenous Zone has a violet base with multi colour glitter and there are two other shades Spank Me (black with glitter) and Pearl Vanish (white gloss with pearl). These are very interesting eye products, and I have actually used one of them before as they released a shade with the Cinderella collection in Lightly Tauped. These are extremely sticky and as you might expect highly glossy and they don't set or dry down at all. I find them really difficult to work with as your average makeup lover, but for a MUA or if you were wanting to create some really out there looks, then these would be good to add to your kit. It's a shame they aren't more user friendly because this shade is pretty amazing (swatches below).
Lipstick in Black Knight* | RRP $40.00
Black Knight is a very interesting shade; it's a cremesheen finish and described as a black with red and gold pearl. There are three other shades in this release; Boyfriend Stealer, Heavy Petting and Ring My Bell. This shade actually came out as part of the Style Black collection from way back in 2009 and has been re-promoted a couple of times in collections since.
In the swatch below you'll get a better idea of the shade, it's definitely a unique one! I really like the cremesheen formula, as they glide on easy and feel hydrating and comfortable on the lips, however they're not the most long lasting. This shade is more on the sheer side and a difficult one to wear, but if you lightly dab it on and blend it out it can look quite cool, or build it up for more opaque colour if you feel daring. I think I'll be experimenting more with this in the winter.

This will be part of the permanent collection, which comes out Boxing Day here in NZ (26th December) to all M.A.C stores. In the collection is; Fluidline Pen (4 shades $40.00), Pro Longwear Paint Pot (5 shades RRP $48.00) and 242 Shader Brush (RRP $68.00).
Fluidline Pen in Retro Black*
I love these types of pen liquid eye liners as I find them a lot easier to use then pot or gel liners. Overall I am impressed with this formula, it's got a really good dense black pigment to it and you can get a nice thin line or build it up to be thicker. I don't find it lasts on the lids as well as one of my favourites, the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner, but it is definitely up there in terms of quality. There are three other shades including a dark brown, deep navy and a sea green.
Swatches of the above products mentioned. Just look how amazing Erogenous Zone looks! If only the formula wasn't so sticky!
What do you think of these two collections that are/have been released? Will you be picking up any products?
