M.A.C | Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Stick + Eyes On Palettes - CassandraMyee

When M.A.C release new collections, I always end up excited to see what they'll be bringing out next. There's just something about M.A.C... am I right?! Some of their latest launches from last month include one limited edition collection, the Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks*, and an extension of their permanent range with the Eyes On M.A.C Palettes*.

PRO LONGWEAR WATERPROOF COLOUR STICKS | RRP $52.00 each
Eyeshadow sticks are a welcomed addition to any makeup bag, especially those of you who want to apply your makeup quickly but still want to have it looking like you put in the effort. There is a wide range of shades available from pale pastels to deeper shades like browns, a navy and a staple black. I was sent two shades to try out, Frisky Blue*, bright cobalt, and Sweet Praline*, a soft peach. The sticks are very creamy and easy to apply but they then take about 20 seconds to start setting down.

Frisky Blue is a fun one to use as an accent colour, especially on the lower lash line to add a bit of colour. Sweet Praline is a staple nude shade that can be used as an eyeshadow base, or used to brighten the eyes by running the stick along the top and lower lash line in the inner rim of the eye. Because they are waterproof they will stick around all day.

EYES ON M.A.C EYESHADOW x9 PALETTE* | RRP $80.00
I quite like M.A.C eyeshadows, although nowadays I think there are many brands making shadows that are definitely a bit better than what M.A.C offer. In saying that, I do reach for my big palette with my chosen shades quite often. They have released six colourways of the x9 palette and three in the x15 palettes. As you can see above, the x9 Palette has much smaller pans but the palette is the same size as the quad that fit the four regular pans of shadows.

I was sent the Pastel Times Nine, which isn't something I would generally go for myself as I like darker neutrals and browns (because I am boring like that).  It has been fun to play around with this though and there are some easily wearable and versatile shades - I'm just not sold on the pastel green just yet! There is a combination of satin, frost, veluxe pearl and matte finishes in this palette. Overall, I was left very underwhelmed by the pigmentation of these ones, particularly on shades like Carra and Sweet Green.

The rest of the palettes have great colour selections available. In the x15 palettes, there is Warm Neutral, Cool Neutral and Mellow Moderns (Limited Edition), each of these is NZD $220. In the x9 range, there is; Purple, Navy, Amber, Dusky Rose, Burgundy and Pastel available.

Both collections are in store now, with the Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks being a limited life collection, so get in quick if you are keen to add a couple to your makeup stash. Also now in stores is the Vibe Tribe Collection, which is just beautiful and I may have bought one of their lipsticks from it yesterday. If you're in Auckland, the very limited and incredibly packaged Chris Chang collaboration is only available in Smith & Caughey's on Queen St - for more on this collection check out my gorgeous friends over at Makeupper who reviewed it here.

What do you think about these M.A.C offerings? Will you be picking anything out?
