Back in March last year I reviewed the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lips*, and now they've released a brand new Satin formula of the same line with a bunch of shades available. I was kindly sent the full range of shades that are available here in NZ to try out and swatch for your all.
The Stay Satin Lip Colours* come in the exact same tube as the Stay Matte's except the clear part is a normal shiny plastic, whereas the Matte version had a frosted, mattified packaging. The doe-foot applicator is exactly the same with its unique elongated tip that helps in making your application quite precise.
In NZ, 13 shades were released with a mix of nudes, pinks and red and then a couple of curveball shades such as the vibrant purple Atomic and the grey/blue Glam Rock. These shades a certainly not for the faint-hearted. As far as formula goes these have great pigmentation, they're lightweight and don't feel heavy on the lips. Unlike their matte counterparts, you aren't going to get a full day of wear of these and they will transfer but not as much as a traditional creamy lipstick. They do dry down a touch and if you don't like a full matte lip, these feel a lot more comfortable and they aren't as drying.
My favourite shades are definitely the more pinky nudes such as Yuppie and It Girl. The very pale shades such as Take a Chill Pill and As If do absolutely nothing for me and look quite terrible with my skin tone and I am not sure who would be able to pull them off. Other than those, the darker reds and pinks are well worth checking out if they're shades you love wearing.
