EMPTIES | November '16 - CassandraMyee

Can you believe this is going to be my second to last Empties of the year? As with most month's I always think I'm not going to end up having many products, but am surprised when I empty the bag to find a whole load more. There's a good mix this month of skincare, haircare and makeup.

EMPTIES | November '16 - CassandraMyee

Clinique Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam* | NZD $39.00
I was sent this to try a few months back and have been using it steadily and only just got the end of it - it seemed like I was never going to finish it! Most foaming cleansers are designed for oily skin but this one is specifically formulated for very dry to dry combination skin so it is extremely gentle and doesn't starve the skin of moisture like some more heavy duty foaming cleansers. It cleans the skin well, and for how long this lasted it is well worth the money.

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail with a Shot of Omega* | NZD$50.00
This was a completely new skincare brand for me and one I was super intrigued by. Timebomb from what I can find are UK based but have recently launched into NZ. They offer skincare with a difference, with their 'groundbreaking' complexion cocktails and a more basic approach to your skincare regime. I have one of their Complexion Cocktails (they offer three different kinds aimed at differing skin concerns), this one has a shot of H2Omega for dehydrated and dry skin. I used this as a toner/serum hybrid by shaking the bottle and dabbing some on a cotton pad and swiping onto my face. There was no denying it was instantly hydrating and my skin felt a lot better for it.

Maybelline Eye + Lip Makeup Remover | $6.99
An Empties staple - best eye makeup remover around, and removed stubborn liquid lipsticks with ease!

Nu-Pore Moisturizing Under Eye Treatment | $4.20 (for 2 packs)
I got these in an iHerb order ages ago as a free trial/sample. It was a one use set of their undereye moisturising treatments. They definitely felt nice under the eyes, albeit a little uncomfortable, but they were soaked in loads of product that made them sort of slip and slide around the skin. The aim is to leave them on for about 20 mins and the remove and dab the rest of the product so it soaks in. They felt nice while they were on but I don't know how much moisturisation they actually ended up giving. I probably wouldn't purchase a full set.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Wipes | $9.99
I am a big fan of Micellar water, so when Garnier brought out the wipes soaked with Micellar Water I was totally on board with that. As wipes go, these might be some of my favourite ones as they don't dry out the skin, but they remove makeup with ease, good for those lazy nights! I would definitely buy these again!

Colab Sheer + Invisible Dry Shampoo in Monaco Scent* | $17.00 or $7.99 (mini)
I was beyond excited when I learnt that UK brand Colab started by beauty vlogger/blogger Ruth Crilly aka A Model Recommends, was finally coming to NZ. I had high hopes for this dry shampoo as it was raved about constantly in the UK and it did not disappoint at all. The formula didn't leave any white cast in the hair, nor did it make the hair feel too sticky or powdery. It got rid of the oils and refreshed the hair in a couple of sprays. Also, the scents of these are so nice, so it makes your hair look clean and also smell clean too. I am looking forward to trying out another scent when I repurchase this.

Tresemme Expert Botanique Restore + Shine Conditioner*
Another hair related product I finished during the month of November was from Tresemme - one of my trusted hair care brands. They launched the natural Botanique range a little while back and I was sent the shampoo and conditioner to try out. I'm not sure how but I managed to get through the conditioner faster than the shampoo, which I am nearly out of. This new range has coconut milk, and aloe vera in it and I really liked how soft and hydrated my hair felt after using. I would definitely buy this, and probably will when I'm at the supermarket next!

Urban Skincare Co. Infuse Body Balm* | AUD $12.99 for 100ml
This was in a Lust Have It (monthly beauty subscription box) ages ago and I found it in my stash of hand creams basically empty! I think calling this a balm is a stretch as it is more a lightweight lotion that soaked into the skin quickly. It was a good moisturiser, but there was nothing super stand out about it.

Linden Leaves Pick Me Up Revitalising Hand Cream* | $24.99
I do love Linden Leaves products; their skincare that I have tried is absolutely gorgeous and I have used a couple hand creams in the past from them and am always impressed. This one was so nice to use, didn't leave the hands feeling too greasy, but also left them well moisturised. I would definitely purchase this, I just wish the tube was bigger!

The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream SPF 15 | $13.50
I have had this for a wee while and used it recently and decided I just wasn't a fan of the texture of these hand creams. I'm not sure if it was this particular one in general but I found it to feel a little grainy in texture and left a strange residue on my hands that didn't feel pleasing. It's such a shame, as I love many other Body Shop products but this just didn't do it for me!

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Oil-Free Foundation in 110 Ivory | NZD $19.99
This has become my go-to foundation this year and I have been through a fair amount of tubes. I love the coverage it gives (medium to a buildable full) and it lasts all day on my oily/combo skin. This shade is a bit more pink toned than I would like, but I just deal with it as it's one of the only foundations that doesn't just sink into my pores or run off my face. I am already into another tube!

Rimmel Clear Complexion Pressed Powder | $16.99
Unfortunately, I had only got through about half of this powder until it broke in my little makeup bag that I always carry with me for touch ups. I love the original Stay Matte Powder and wanted to try this one to see if there was any difference but I didn't notice much. Both do a great job of mattifying and don't cake up the skin.I will definitely have to buy a replacement!

e.l.f. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder | NZD $4.50 (via. iHerb)
As with the Covergirl foundation, this is one of my makeup staples and I use it daily to set concealer under my eyes. It's very affordable, plus is lightweight under the eyes and gives a hint more brightness as the powder has a subtle shimmer in it. This stops my concealer creasing and doesn't make the area look too dry.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer in Brightener | NZD $16.50 (via. Trade Me)
Finally, another makeup item I can't live without is this under eye concealer which goes along well with the product mentioned above. This concealer is so good; it covers dark circles and brightens due to the pink tone, plus it doesn't feel heavy under the eyes and wears well without creasing on me. It's not available in NZ (I wish they would release it here!), so I either get it from the US, or I recently found someone on Trade Me who is selling them.

And that is all of my Empties for November! Let me know if you have used any of these products and your thoughts.
