EMPTIES | September '15
I think that the months just really need to put the breaks on; it only feels like it was last week that I was sharing my Empties from August! But here we are at the end of September, and surprisingly I got through a lot of products this month, with a good mix of things across the beauty board.
M.A.C | Vamplify Collection - Review + Swatches
New M.A.C collections have been coming out thick and fast this year and it's almost hard to keep up with them all! Their latest release is the Vamplify range (Fall release for the US), with 17 high intensity lip glosses, and 12 Pro Longwear Lip Pencils, all in some gorgeous shades. I was sent two shades from the Vamplify selection, so check out my thoughts and some swatches after the jump.
L'OREAL PARIS | Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Nudes Lipsticks - Review + Swatches
New lipstick launches always get me so excited, but let's be honest here I really don't need any more lipsticks in my life - but do I want them? Hell yes! There's a new collection on the market from L'Oreal Paris, the Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Nudes*, made in collaboration with some iconic, and gorgeous women, that is going to please any lipstick lover.
LUST HAVE IT | Women's Beauty Box August '15 Unboxing + Initial Thoughts
The Lust Have It Women's Beauty Box* for August has arrived, and it's even better than usual because it's their birthday box! This months box includes five products, some skincare and the rest makeup, all of which are full sized. If you're unfamiliar with Lust Have It, basically they are a monthly subscription service where you get sent at least 5 products, ranging from full sized to sample sizes to try out for AUD $19.95 a month. They ship to NZ and Australia and they are a service I've been getting for over a year now.
TRILOGY | Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm Review
Cleansing balms and cleansing oils are having a real thing in the beauty industry at the moment, and I ain't complaining about it! I absolutely adore The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil for taking off my makeup at the end of the day, but recently I've been using this brand new Trilogy offering; the Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm*.
REAL TECHNIQUES | Collector's Edition Sculpting Brush Set Review
You might have seen in my latest iHerb haul that I posted last week (if you haven't read it, check it out here for lots of other haulin'), that I finally got my hands on the new Collector's Edition Sculpting Brush Set from my favourite brush brand, Real Techniques. If you live under a rock (sorry about that if you do...), RT was started by vlogging sisters and makeup artists Sam and Nic Chapman from Pixiwoo. I've been using their brushes for years now and I can always rely on them to be amazing quality, but also really affordable, and this new set is no exception.
AUSTRALIS | New Primers - The Original, Cya Later Pores + Blemish Buster
I will without a doubt use a primer every time I apply makeup - for me, it's a crucial step in my routine so I'm always looking for great primers that help prolong my foundation wear. Nowadays brands are coming out with all sorts of different primers to target certain skin concerns and Australis have jumped in the ring and recently released three new primers*, that should cover most people's primer needs.
iHERB | Haul - e.l.f., Real Techniques, Physicians Formula + More
It's been a long time since I made an iHerb haul and it was about time I spent some of my credit building up and finally get some products I've been wanting for a while. If you haven't heard of iHerb, you are truly missing out - it's got so much choice, from food to supplements and vitamins, to cosmetics and skincare - the focus being on natural products. I've made many orders from them before and they always impress me - so here's what I got this time around (I went a bit crazy for lip liners...)
CAN A MEN'S POST SHAVE BALM REALLY WORK AS A PRIMER?
So you might be reading this and thinking 'Has Cass gone totally crazy?', and the answer is yes, I think I have because using this Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm* as a makeup primer actually works! You might need to hear me out on this one, but believe me, next time you are in the supermarket grab a bottle and check it out for yourself (or if you have a boyfriend who uses it, sneak a bit of his to try...)
MOST LOVED | August '15
August was a crazy month, but crazy in the best way possible. It was my first official month here in Auckland after moving from Christchurch and I've been so busy with all sorts of fun things (as well as being very sick for about 10 days out of the month too). I've pretty much been wearing makeup nearly everyday, but have been trying to reach for different products each time, however there were some stand outs that are making a feature today in my Most Loved.
