August was a crazy month, but crazy in the best way possible. It was my first official month here in Auckland after moving from Christchurch and I've been so busy with all sorts of fun things (as well as being very sick for about 10 days out of the month too). I've pretty much been wearing makeup nearly everyday, but have been trying to reach for different products each time, however there were some stand outs that are making a feature today in my Most Loved.
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream
It was a glorious day when I tracked this down from Postie - and since then I've been using it a bunch, so much so that it is almost empty. Soap & Glory isn't a brand we can get in NZ and I am regretting not picking up some things when I went to the USA last year. Thankfully we can get a very small amount of products at Postie now, and in the famous Sugar Crush scent that just smells so good! As a moisturiser it is great too; it sinks in quickly and doesn't leave the skin feeling too greasy, plus the scent lingers slightly too.
Manuka Doctor ApiClear Purifying Facial Peel* [RRP $35.95]
After seeing Shaaanxo use this in a bunch of her vlogs (which I also loved watching this month), I had to give it a go as it looked and sounded great. It definitely lives up to her praise and I've loved it during the last half of the month. It is quite thick to apply, and you only need quite a thin layer otherwise it takes a while to dry down. Once it's dry it'll start to peel off from the skin and it all comes off in one go. It does hurt a bit when you peel it off, but it feels instantly gratifying for the skin and I can tell my skin is better off for using it.
Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring Palettes*
Last week I posted Part 2 of the new Maybelline releases and raved about these Contouring Palettes (there's also swatches of both of the shades comparing them here). I've been loving them both - the lighter shade is more subtle, where as the darker one shows up a bit more on the skin and gives more of that shadow look. The highlighting shade is soft and subtle and I like how these blend out on the skin.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Celebrity Skin*
It's kind of a no brainer that I absolutely love this shade (well if you know me at least!) It's a dark nude brown, that I find really flattering on and it definitely goes with that 90s trend at the moment. I blogged about these a couple of weeks ago, with a few other shades I got (see them here), but this has been the stand out. These have a thin light texture to them once applied and I find they don't flake or ball up like the Australis ones can do and aren't as drying, they are also super very long lasting.
blinc Fountain of Youthful Colour Eyebrow Mousse in Dark Brunette*
And yet another product I have recently blogged about (I am just dishing out links left, right, and centre - see it in my Top 5 Brow Gels post here). It is a great eyebrow gel, not only for setting the hairs in place but also adding a bit more volume, texture and tint to them. It's a good one if you want something easy to run through the brows that will tame them and give a good amount of colour to them.
Jordana EasyLiner for Lips in Rock N Rose
I think I've mentioned another shade of this liner in a previous Most Loved, but these are seriously great lip liners for the very small price tag (i.e. USD $2.49). This lip liner works perfectly with Celebrity Skin, and I've been pairing them together quite a bit. As for formula, these are very smooth, but not too smooth that they smoosh everywhere, and they last really well on the lips either on their own or with a lipstick on top.
