RIMMEL | New Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color - Review + Swatches

RIMMEL | New Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

There's nothing like a new liquid lipstick release to make me sit up and pay attention. Liquid lipsticks (usually of the matte variety) are my go-to formula for lip products because I like the matte finish on me and I like that you can put one on and not worry about it for a while! Rimmel has recently launched the Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours* in 15 shades.

I was sent 6 of the 15 shades to try out and overall I am pretty impressed with them. Rimmel has tried to do liquid lipsticks before with the Apolalips range which were more creamy liquid lipsticks that would transfer, they then did a matte variety but they were still that creamy formula that didn't dry down, unlike these ones which I think are SO much better!

The Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours are the type that is going to dry down totally matte on your lips and not budge for ages. They have quite a light formula that is well pigmented and doesn't feel thick or cakey once dried on the lips. The applicator is quite standard for liquid lips, with a long, flat tip with a nice sharp edge so you can create a crisp lip line. These don't transfer and they last for hours on the lips.

That shade range is really broad, with some good classic nudes in various tones of pink and nude/brown. There are some beautiful reds and plums, and then for the more daring, there is even a blue/violet, a black and a grey shade! I've got six of the shades; 110 Blush (classic light rosy pink), 200 Pink Blink (peachy pink), 201 Rose & Shine (more mauvey rose pink), 210 Latte To Go (very pale nude), 810 Plum This Show (dark pinky berry) and 820 Heartbeat (fuchsia dark pink). All of these shades bar Latte To Go, look really nice on my skin tone. I wish that Latte to Go was a little bit darker which I would find a bit more wearable, however, you can layer it with other shades to make it suit your skin tone.

These are all available from any Rimmel London stockists and retail in NZ for $16.99 each.

What shade would you go for?
