My very first post nearly four years ago on this blog of mine was a beauty box unboxing, since then I have done a whole load of posts sharing the contents of various beauty boxes, some of which are no longer operating. But to fill that gap in NZ, MyBeauty has just launched with their first ever beauty subscription box* which I was lucky enough to be one of the first in NZ to peek inside!
Their first launch box contains 5 products, all of which are full size (note, the Batiste Dry Shampoo comes in a variety of sizes), and from well-known brands that are easily accessible in New Zealand. It's frustrating when beauty boxes contain brand that you can't easily purchase in your country, which is generally the case for NZ. The focus is on providing known brands and products that most people are going to use and enjoy.
Opening the box reveals the products wrapped in pink tissue with a card inside containing information on each of the products and their prices. The box costs $25.00, so you are guaranteed to get more than what you pay for.
The first product is a 90g can of Batiste Dry Shampoo (RRP $15.99) - dry shampoo is a staple for me, and most women so it's always going to go down well. I like Batiste for the scents and it also works really well too to absorb oil on the hair and generally freshen your hair up.
One of my favourite products included is the essie All In One Treatment (RRP $12.99), which I already use and love. It is a base coat, top coat and strengthener in one. Personally, I think it works best as a base coat, though!
I always love when there is a good mix of makeup and skin or haircare products included. Inside was a Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain (RRP $22.99) in a vibrant pink shade. I already have one of these which I really like for using under other lipsticks as sort of a lip liner, or on its own for a softer look that lasts all day. One end has a felt tip like applicator and the Lipstain is really lightweight and seriously once on, doesn't move for ages. The other end has a balm to put over top to give the lips a bit of a sheen.
Next up is the Bronx Colors Boost Up Double Effect Mascara (RRP $14.99). I have a few different Bronx products before (see the haul and review here), but not this particular mascara. The wand is pretty large, but it promises definition and curl in a couple of coats (see an image of wand below).
The final product is the City Color Beauty Blending Sponge (RRP $24.99), very reminiscent of the Beauty Blender range. I am a makeup sponge lover and use one every day for my foundation and the Real Techniques one is my pick of choice. This one feels a lot stiffer and harder than others so it may not work as well as it's counterparts. Still a good product to include and a handy one to have.
MyBeauty can be purchased as a one off for $25.00, or you can set it up as a monthly thing so it will charge you automatically and send you the latest box. The products in this one are valued at around NZD $92, so you are definitely getting more than what you pay for and from some trusted brands.
What do you think of this new beauty box available in NZ?
