You will probably all realise that I am an eyeshadow junkie; palettes are one of my makeup vices (especially if they are in the neutral territory), and at the moment it seems a lot of brands just keep releasing them! Rimmel has just brought out something a little different for their range in the form of the Magnif'eyes Eye Contouring Palettes*; compact, eight pan palettes in two different colourways.
If you follow my blog or read my posts often you would have seen me post about the Max Factor palettes, which are slightly similar in the fact that they are way more affordable than other eyeshadows palettes on the market and definitely fill a gap that was missing.
Rimmel, for me, is such a staple brand that I have always loved even before blogging. They do some amazing foundations and their Stay Matte Powder is a holy grail for me - I can't even remember how many I have been through! These palettes are up there with some of the best in their range, just check out the swatches below.

001 KEEP CALM + WEAR GOLD*
As you might be able to guess this palette has been getting a lot of love from me lately as these shades are right up my alley. The pigmentation is really high, the shimmers/metallics are buttery and the mattes are smooth and not chalky or powdery, although the lightest matte shade didn't perform as well as the others. The shade selection works really well with enough shades to mix it up a bit and a couple of mattes to be able to blend everything out, making it ideal for travelling with.
003 GRUNGE GLAMOUR*
The second palette definitely lives up to the name with deeper tones that are a bit more daring than the golds and bronzes. The matte grey is slightly less pigmented than the others, but the metallics perform so well as you can see in the taupe, purple also blue/grey. I don't reach for this one as much, although I think it is so stunning and a great one if you like smokier tones.
The Magnif'eyes Palettes are only... get this... NZD $22.99 each! I think that is such a steal for a solid palette that has a good mix of mattes and shimmers, plus the size is so handy for chucking in your makeup bag and travelling with. I know I will be getting a lot of use from mine! They can be found at The Warehouse, Farmers and Kmart in NZ.
