NEW SKINCARE PRODUCT LAUNCHES - CassandraMyee

Along with all the amazing makeup bits, I am sent, the vast majority of things I am actually sent to try out falls within the skincare category. I really love testing and trailing the latest innovations or new releases from brands, but testing skincare takes a heck of a lot longer to try to get a good opinion about it, compared to just throwing on a lipstick a couple of times which you will immediately see the results. My Empties posts are often a plethora of skincare products that I have finished all the way so I am able to give a good review on them. I thought for this post I would share some new things that have been released, most of them I have used a fair few times so I can give you a few thoughts on them.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Cleansing Range
Palmer's, famous for their Coconut body lotions and body care products , has launched three new cleansing products including the Coconut Oil Formula with Vitamin E Cleansing Balm* ($16.99), Coconut Oil Formula with Vitamin E Facial Scrub* ($13.99), Coconut Oil Formula with Vitamin E Hydrating Facial Mask* ($13.99). The Cleansing Balm is a must have for removing makeup with ease. It's certainly more of an oil and as soon as it hits the skin it melts in and breaks down any makeup, which can then be wiped off with a muslin cloth or flannel before cleansing a second time. The Scrub is pretty intensive with fine granules of raw coconut sugar which makes the skin feel very soft after use. The Mask reminds me a bit of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Face Mask in the fact that is it more of a very thick moisturiser; most of it soaks into the skin and the rest can be wiped off. If you have dry skin, this would feel amazing and is very nourishing and soothing on the skin.

Tan Organic Self Tan Oil* | NZD$59.90 (full size)
I was very intrigued by this Self Tan Oil from a new brand to me; Tan Organic. It's a light oil that sinks into the skin almost immediately giving a light, natural tan to the skin instantly. It's not going to give you the Bondi Sands Ultra Dark sort of tan, but for a quick all over glow, this is a good option. Use a mitt to ensure it is rubbed in evenly and it will be streak free, or you can apply it with your hands. It has a subtle citrus and rose fragrance and this smaller bottle is a good one to travel with,

Time Bomb Cosmetics Holiday in A Bottle* | NZD $75.00
Another tanning product comes from Time Bomb, this one is an instant tanner for the face. I find this really handy to use when I have fake tanned as I generally don't do my face, instead I use a darker foundation. This helps to give the skin an instant natural glow and darkens the skin (not overly), and leaves it still looking natural. A small pump applied and massaged in well is all you need. This one washes off so it can be used each morning as needed. You can find Time Bomb at Beauty Bliss in NZ.

QSilica Intensive Skin, Hair + Nail One-A-Day Vegetarian Tablets* | 30 tablets RRP $39.90 / 90 tablets RRP $89.90
When I was sent the press release for these tablets I was really interested in trying them out, and they were kind enough to send me a three-month supply of them. Qsiliica uses colloidal (meaning easily absorbed in the body) Silica which naturally occurs in quartz crystals. It is known for its strengthening, rejuvenating and health giving properties to help promote healthy growth of connective issue, i.e. that found in the skin, hair and nails. I have been taking these for about a month and a half now and my skin has been a lot better (it's hard to pinpoint if this is the main factor, but I think it is definitely contributing), my hair has also been growing a lot quicker too. My nails seem a bit stronger, they are definitely not breaking or splitting as easily. I think they are really working well and I am looking forward to finishing the cycle. The tablets are pretty big though and they taste pretty disgusting so I would say take them with juice if you can to get them down easily! You can take one or two capsules daily and they are vegetarian tablets.

ATZEN Balance Bio Active Complex Silky Complexion, Broad Spectrum SPF15* | $139.00
Late last year I was treated to an amazing event showcasing a new French skincare brand, ATZEN. The founder of the brand spoke to us about why she created it and talked us through some of the products in the range. I have been using a few things from it which I will be talking about in my upcoming Empties as I just finished them this month. I was sent this SPF/moisturiser last month, but I haven't got around to trying it but I wanted to give you the heads up about it. This is a very scientific skincare brand and a lot of research and development went into it. The Balance Bio Active Moisturiser helps to protect the skin with the SPF and also provides anti-aging properties with a blend of anti-aging skin stem cells from natural ingredients such as Swiss apples, xanthan gum, glycerin, lecithin as well as containing yeast extracts from living plant cells to boost collagen and elastin. The founder, Catherine Atzen had beautiful skin, so I am looking forward to trying this one out. The packaging is great too, with a hygienic pump to dispense the perfect amount of product, which keeps the fingers away from an open pot as well as other dirt and bacteria that may affect the ingredients inside.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydrorush Moisturizer SPF 20* | NZD $58.00
I am a huge fan of the products I have used from the relatively new 'Pep-Start' range, aimed at a more younger audience in packaging and price point. The Eye Cream from this range is really good and I really need to get my hands on another one! If you have dry skin or normal skin, this moisturiser is for you. It's got a thicker consistency than most daytime moisturisers so it provides an instant hit of hydration to the skin. As I have oily/combination skin, I can get away with this but only need a small amount to really get it onto the whole face. If I use too much I start getting a bit oilier than I usually would throughout the day.
