In my final instalment of Was It Worth It? Beauty Advent Calendar addition, here is the massive, beautiful (and expensive) The Body Shop calendar. Every year they bring one out and it seems to get better and better according to a lot of photos I've seen. I was so lucky that my Dad surprised my sister and I and bought these back from the USA with him where they were a whole lot cheaper (I'll go into that later, though).

I think this one wins for the best packaging. It is a large square box with doors, that opens up to reveal 25 individually numbered boxes. Instead of the usual 24 days, this one had a surprise for Christmas Day as well which was a nice touch. Once you opened each box you turned it around to reveal the message when they are all placed together. I have recycled my other ones, but this one I am definitely keeping because it would be great to refill it for years to come with different treats or beauty products inside.

In NZ this was the only one available but it seemed in the UK there were three different options, this one being the lowest price. The other two above that were a bit more deluxe which was reflected in the price containing more of the higher end range from The Body Shop.

A running product through the whole calendar were these travel-friendly 60ml bottles of shower gel, moisturisers etc. Included was the Christmas scents from this year as well as some of their popular scents from their core range. Inside was the; Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, Frosted Berries Softening Body Gel-Lotion, Mango Whipped Lotion, Vanilla Chai Softening Body Gel-Lotion, Polynesian Island Tiare Shower Gel, British Rose Shower Gel, and the Spiced Apple Shower Gel.

It wasn't all skincare, with a couple of makeup goodies in their and their infamous Lip Butters, which have been around since I was a tween and remember getting them as gifts all the time! Here we have; Colour Crush Nail Polish in Just Peachy, Lip Definer in Pink Clover, Eye Definer in Black, Lip Butters in Strawberry and Shea. All of these products are full sized.

I am really impressed with the range of different products, and the inclusion of full sized ones makes it seem a lot more generous. Some other products included were; Vitamin E Moisture Cream, Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream, Pink Grapefruit Hand Cream, Strawberry Body Butter (this was the big box for Day 24 and is a full sized one), and the Coconut Soap (full size too).

Along with the actual beauty products there were some body care and makeup tools in the calendar as well. The Sleeping Eye Mask was in Day 25 alongside the Oils of Life Sleeping Cream, as well as that there was a Mini White Bath Lily, Eyelash Curlers, Soft Facial Cleansing Sponge, Slanted Tweezers, Pencil Sharpener, Lash + Brow Comb, Eyeshadow Brush and a Nail File. Whilst I would prefer more samples of their products, these are all super useful things to have a I love the inclusion of the Eyelash Curler and brushes.

So technically there were 26 products included throughout the 25 days and I loved opening each box in the mornings. As a huge lover of The Body Shop in the first place, I know that I will end up using all of these products and they are going to be so handy when it comes to travelling.

In the US, this calendar was USD $105.00, which is around NZD $150, to buy this in NZ was $329.95 - definitely a splurge item. The 60ml bottles are priced at $9 each, so that's $63 right there, and a full size Body Butter is about $38. I roughly added up each item and the total came to about NZD $300, so there isn't really a saving there at all which is a shame. Despite all that, it is such a beautiful calendar and if you can afford it and you are a Body Shop fan you will probably love it too.

So what do you think of The Body Shop offering? Would you purchase it next year?
