If you missed yesterday's post (see it here), for the rest of the week I am talking beauty advent calendars; seeing if they were worth the money and going through what was inside each one I opened through the lead up to Christmas. Today's calendar is the Tanya Burr Cosmetics 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar from YouTube mega star Tanya Burr.

Tanya Burr is a UK based beauty blogger/vlogger who has a massive following (around 3.6 million subscribers at the moment!) I started watching her videos about 5-6 years ago, but in recent years have found myself drifting away from them as the content is driven towards a younger market. That aside, I still like supporting these YouTubers and the Tanya Burr Cosmetics range was something I had wanted to try for a while to see what it was like. I bought the 12 Days of Beauty Advent from Feelunique (see haul here) who stock her makeup line and also ship internationally.

The packaging of the calendar was in a cardboard outer with a really cute house design on the front. This one only has 12 days, so I opened it every second day starting from the 1st December.

Nail Polishes in Glitters & Gold, Glitter Rain + Sleigh Bells
Usually, Feelunique won't ship out nail polish internationally due to restrictions, but through the loophole of the advent calendar, I was able to try some. They were some of the first products she initially launched and since then they have been repackaged and look a lot more expensive and chic with the gold lid and glass bottle. Each of these polishes is limited edition to the calendar and are very festive appropriate. The glitters needed a couple of coats to get a bit more on the nails and I was surprised how sheer Sleigh Bells applied. The swatch below shows 2 coats and it didn't come out as the rich red that it shows in the bottle. It is still a nice shade, though!

Also included was a mini nail file, which is quite common in these beauty advent calendars by the looks of it!

Now on to the makeup included in the calendar. One of the days had a little mirror behind it, which isn't the best quality mirror and sort of feels like a badge without the pin part!

Glitter Liner in Treasured + Ice Crystals
Out of all the eyeliners I own, I have no glitter ones so I was excited about these when I opened each door. They are in a clear base which means the glitter distributions isn't that great, but you can build it up. On top of black or darker liners, these would look very cool.

Glitter Pot in Snow Day + Champagne Sparkle
When I first opened these I thought they were going to be loose pigment shadows, but they literally are just pure glitter. The swatches show them applied dry, but with a mixing medium or setting spray on a brush they would likely look a lot better and would also adhere to the lids. Although I like the idea of them, I think it would have worked better to have them as actual shadows, making them a bit more user-friendly.

Matte Liquid Lipstick in Christmas Stocking + Lip Glosses in Candy Cane + Berry Pavlova
It wouldn't be a Christmas beauty calendar without a festive red lipstick and having it in the new matte formula is a winner for me. The colour is gorgeous, a true red and the pigmentation is really high too. It dries down to be completely matte as well. The two lip glosses are in festive shades too with a darker shimmery pink, and a red/berry toned gloss. For glosses, they have a really good colour payoff and don't seem to feel sticky or gloopy.

So that is the contents of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Calendar. This was £25.00/NZD $43.00 approx. I wasn't able to find the pricing details for some of the products as they were exclusive to the calendar, but with the nail polishes and lip products alone it is around the £30.00 mark. Overall the total contents might be around £50.00, which is close to NZD $90.00. Personally, it might be a little young for me, although I do love that Matte Lip, but for teens, this would be ideal!

What do you think of the beauty advent calendar?
