LANCÔME | Hypnose Star Eyes 5 Color Palette in Brun Adore - Review + Swatches

LANCOME | Hypnose Star Eyes 5 Color Palette in Brun Adore - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

There's nothing quite like luxury products - for me, they are so indulgent and an absolute treat. The majority of my collection is from more affordable brands, but I am lucky enough to have a little stash of gorgeous high-end makeup. This Lancôme Hypnose Star Eyes 5 Color Palette* is a brand new addition to my makeup collection and it is the first ever Lancome makeup product I have tried.

The palette is packaged beautifully; the metallic exterior box houses the sleek black palette inside. The packaging isn't groundbreaking, and despite the plastic outer, it feels secure and expensive. One thing I noticed that was very smart is that the sponge applicator and small brush that comes inside the palette are magnetised so they don't keep falling out every time you open the palette. For me, it's such a small detail but as someone who has used many an eyeshadow palette, it definitely makes a difference!

The palette I have is in Brun Adore, with five complimentary gorgeous neutral shades. The shade selection I really love, with a couple lighter shades, and two darker shades to vamp things up if you wanted too. All the shades have some degree of shimmer to them, but none of them have any chunky bits of glitter, so they'd be suitable for any age. I would say they leave a sort of satin finish to the lid. As far as the pigmentation goes, I can't say that it blew me away, but they are certainly nice to use. The lighter shades are definitely on the sheer side but make for a nice light wash on the lids. The darker shades have more pigment to them and go on smoothly and blend well. The top shade in my swatch reminds me a lot of M.A.C's Satin Taupe and is a shade I enjoy using the most from the palette.

This little palette is NZD $105.00 available at any Lancôme counters. Personally, I think the price is pretty steep, but that's what you pay for luxury brands like Lancôme.

What do you make of this palette? Do you own any makeup products from Lancôme?
