Just about every brand now are bringing out some sort of contouring and highlighting kit. It seems us beauty lovers can't get enough of them, I know I am a big fan of them and have been loving trying out the different offerings. UK based brand Collection have brought out their version* to the market, at a great price of NZD $21.99. But what's the quality like...?
The Highlight + Sculpt Contour Palette has a pretty plain and normal packaging that you might expect from an affordable brand. It has a black plastic exterior, with windows so you can see the shades. I am really impressed with the size of the pans - it means you can actually get your brush in there, and it will also last longer than some others.
Overall I have really been enjoying using this kit; the matte contour works well as a contour shade, but also can be used as a bronzer too around the perimeter of the face as it's not as ashy tones as some other contours. The highlighting shade is a light cream with a subtle shimmer in it, and there's no obvious glitter particles in it. Blending wise, it's best to start light with the contour powder as it is very pigmented and can start looking a bit intense pretty quickly. A light tap in with a brush works fine for me, and then I work it well under the cheek bones. If you are very pale this kit isn't going to work that well as it may be too dark for your skin tone, but for other skin tones it is well worth trying out.
Collection is now available at Countdown Supermarkets in NZ and this palette is $21.99.
Do you use any contouring kits? What do you think about this one?
