I'm always amazed at how many products I get through each month. I throw all my empty products in a bag beside my sink and this month it was almost starting to overflow! There's a lot of my usual products included, but also a few newbies that I really enjoyed using.
SKINCARE
The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner
This has been my go-to toner for a while now, I find it's not too drying, nor does it strip the skin of moisture. It helps to remove any excess dirt and impurities from the skin and toning is a must do step in my skincare routine. I haven't bought a replacement bottle of this yet as I've gone back to the Tea Tree Toner as my skin has been breaking out a bit recently and I wanted to combat that. I will, no doubt go back to this one, though.
The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15
I think this might be the second tube I've been through of this lotion as I really like it, particularly during the summer. I've squeezed out the very last bit of this but haven't repurchased as I have a few other facial moisturisers to get through in my stash. This is a good one though for combination skin, it might be a touch too heavy for really oily skin, but for me, it hydrated where I needed it while also keeping my skin mattified.
Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream*
I was so sad when I desperately squeezed out the very last of this new eye cream from Clinique. I've been using it since the end of December and I absolutely loved it. I reviewed this earlier in February (see it here), but in a nutshell, I found it light weight, easy to work into the under-eye and surrounding area and it instantly made me look more refreshed. It worked amazingly well under makeup and I would definitely purchase this myself if I didn't have a couple new eye creams from other brands to use up.
ZA True White Cleansing Foam [Mini]*
I got this mini bottle from a set a wee while ago but recently finished it up while away for Easter. Back in March 2015 I finished up a full sized bottle of this and remembered how much I liked it from using this mini sized. It has scrubbing particles in it, which are very light and non-abrasive but help to deep the clean the skin. It foams up a lot on the skin and a small pea sized amount is enough to do the face and neck. It is definitely a product I would consider buying again.
Goodness Products Every Week Face Scrub [Mini]*
Another little mini cleanser I finally used up was from the Trilogy umbrella of brands, Goodness Products. This came in the Goodness Grab & Go kit (review here) and as a scrub, I found it very gentle and a good one for all skin types, even those with sensitive skins. Goodness use all natural ingredients, and have Chia Seed Oil as a base in their products. I think I actually have a full size of this in my stash so I need to dig that out!
The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask
This wasn't totally finished but I had had it for a bit longer than I should have and the last of it was all a bit dried up in the pottle. If you're into a deep clay mask, this is one to try. I found it almost a bit too intense on my skin at times, so be wary if you have particularly sensitive skin. It worked well though to drag gunk and dirt out of my pores, and left my skin feeling super duper clean and refreshed. I would probably repurchase this as you get a lot of masks out of it. I did notice the other day when I was in-store that they have redesigned the mask packaging, so if you're on the hunt for it, take note of that.
BODY + CANDLES
The Body Shop Frosted Plum Body Butter (Limited Edition)*
Last year's Christmas collection from The Body Shop was out of this world good and I think the Frosted Plum range was totally my favourite. I've been savouring this body butter for the past few months but I finally scraped the last bit out a couple of weeks ago. The scent of this was gorgeous and for some reason I found this Body Butter to be a lot lighter on the skin than others - I'm not sure if that was normal but I didn't mind at all. They are so nourishing and the scent lingers too. I really hope they bring this back for Christmas 2016.
Kmart Tranquility Candle
I thought I'd chuck in these two candles that I finished up. This one was super cheap from Kmart, only about $5.00 and I thought the scent was nice however when I was burning it, there was little to no scent kick off and it didn't burn very evenly either.
Witchery Red Roses Travel Candle
I doubt you can actually buy these anymore, but I did enjoy burning this one; the scent was lightly fragrant of roses so wasn't too overpowering.
MAKEUP REMOVING
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil
This is one of my must-have skincare products and I recommend it to anyone I can! I've been through many, many bottles of it and already had a back-up of it ready to go. I love this oil because it feels light on the skin, it removes even the toughest of makeup with a quick rub around on the face and it doesn't leave any residue on the skin once you wash it off. Currently, I am finishing the Trilogy Makeup Be Gone Cleansing Balm*, but look forward to cracking into a new bottle of this.
Maybelline Eye + Lip Makeup Remover
Not much to say about this because at least one bottle of this is in every single Empties I've done for years now. This stuff is the bomb for removing eye and lip products (i.e. stubborn matte liquid lipsticks) and it doesn't sting or irritate.
Garnier Refreshing Make-Up Remover Wipes
I had hoped to find a fresh packet of the Micellar Wipes when I went to the supermarket, but they had no stock of them so I settled for these ones. They did the job perfectly well, didn't dry out the skin and removed my makeup well enough when I was feeling a little lazy. I don't think it works that well for eye makeup but it will do if necessary. I'll definitely be getting the Micellar Wipes next time, though.
HAIR + MAKEUP
Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush Scent [Mini]
Only one hair product this month in the form of this cute mini can of dry shampoo, a travel essential! I get through these mini cans really quickly as I am pretty liberal when it comes to this stuff. I like the Batiste range as it soaks up oil and leaves the hair looking instantly refreshed, I wish that they did the brunette ones in these mini cans, though!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown
My beloved Brow Wiz finished right on the end of the month. I don't usually use anything else to fill in my brows as I swear by the Brow Wiz. It makes my brows look sharp and precise and full and it's easy to control how intense or natural you want them. The pencil formula lasts all day (and some) in my brows and I will always, always repurchase this.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in Brightener
And finally, another of my favourite/can't-live-without makeup items ran out, although luckily I had a back-up ready and waiting to be opened! This stuff is all I use under my eyes, it's lightweight but good coverage and never sinks into the fine lines around my eye area. This pink toned formula adds a whole load of brightness to the area too; I apply it in a triangle shape then blend with a sponge and set with a translucent powder for a flawless finish.
