EMPTIES | December '17

EMPTIES | December '17 - CassandraMyee

I've been seriously slacking on the blog writing of late, I can't pinpoint why or what is causing it but it's a little overwhelming. So in the hopes to cure my writer's block or blogging block, I am going to ramble on about the empty products I finished in December. I realise January is almost over so you will see another Empties in a couple of weeks but I am determined to get this one up!

MOST LOVED | June '17 - Kevyn Aucoin, Jordana, Essence + XOBeauty - CassandraMyee

June literally passed by in a flash, at the time it seemed to drag on but now looking back I can't help but think where did the month go? The majority of my June was spent down in Christchurch for my job. CHCH is my hometown so it was nice to be down there for a while and check out what's new in the ever-changing city and catch up with old friends and family, however, I was really missing my Auckland home and my partner. It's great to finally be back and get back into my blog properly as I felt like it suffered a bit while I was away and I was lacking a lot of motivation to write. As I was away for so long I also only had a small makeup bag of products, not my usual selection that I have at home, hence why I only have a very small selection of favourites for the past month. So mini June/life update aside, let's kick into the beauty...

MOST LOVED | August '15

MOST LOVED | August '15 - Soap & Glory, Manuka Dr, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Blinc, Maybelline, Jordana - CassandraMyee
August was a crazy month, but crazy in the best way possible. It was my first official month here in Auckland after moving from Christchurch and I've been so busy with all sorts of fun things (as well as being very sick for about 10 days out of the month too). I've pretty much been wearing makeup nearly everyday, but have been trying to reach for different products each time, however there were some stand outs that are making a feature today in my Most Loved.

CHEAP LIP LINER LOVES | NYX, e.l.f. + Jordana

CHEAP LIP LINER LOVES | NYX, e.l.f. + Jordana - CassandraMyee

So it seems that lip liner has made a major comeback over the past six months or so (can we all thank a Jenner sister for that?) and I have most definitely become a convert to the wonders of lip liner. You can pretty much guarantee I'll be wearing a lip liner nearly every time I put makeup on and lately I've mostly been loving them by themselves sans lipstick. Here are some of the cheaper lip liner options that are absolutely awesome.

THE NUDE LIP ROUND UP

THE EIGHT // Nude Lips - CassandraMyee

Nude lips have become absolutely massive over the past couple of month's due to a certain Kardashian-Jenner sister and the whole 90s revival thing, and I'll admit I totally jumped on this trend, big time. I've always loved a good neutral lip shade, but I always lean towards the pink toned shades, but lately the browner the better (a statement only to be said while talking about lip products).

JORDANA | Lipstick Collection + Swatches

JORDANA // Lipstick Collection + Swatches - cassandramyee

When it comes to lipsticks, I think there are some pretty amazing, incredibly cheap brands out there that do lipsticks very well. Jordana is just one of those brands, and I realised I had quite a stash of shades so I've lumped them together to give you the run down on my collection. Each of these lipsticks can be brought for around NZD $3 at stores like 2Cheap, or online from Beauty Joint for only USD $1.59 each! The colour range is HUGE, and it's a great way to play around and experiment with a variety of shades to find ones that suit you, without paying a huge price tag.

BEAUTY JOINT | Haul #004 + First Impressions [Feat. e.l.f., NYX + Jordana]

Beauty Joint is easily one of my favourite places for 'drugstore' makeup shopping, it stocks all the cheap brands like NYX, e.l.f., Jordana, Wet N Wild, Milani etc, as well as Lime Crime, Revlon and Maybelline (among others!) It is a great place for us NZ gals to get all the good cheap American brands, unavailable to us here. There are a few Beauty Joint hauls on my blog (here, here + here for the latest one) and lately I have actually been ordering through their eBay store, which results in slightly cheaper shipping than buying through the website, and also the option to use PayPal. This time around I ordered quite a a few things, but it was all so cheap I could not resist!

BEAUTY JOINT | Haul #003 via. eBay [feat. NYX, e.l.f., Jordana, Wet N Wild + L.A. Girl]

Now if you a regular reader of CM, then you will know I love me a bit of Beauty Joint. I've featured a number of hauls from the site (just do a quick search to see them all) and it was recently brought to my attention that you could actually buy from Beauty Joint via. their eBay store. They have all the exact same products and you order through your eBay account and can use PayPal, plus the shipping actually works out a lot cheaper than buying directly from the site itself. The products obviously ship from Beauty Joint, the exact same way they would if you were to buy from the site and it arrived in a week exactly, pretty darn impressive!

JORDANA | Haul of Lipsticks + Blush

It is hard to walk past a Jordana stand and not pick up a few products, my local mall has a really good stand at one of the 2Cheap shops (don't be fooled if you think it is all crap!), it's not always fully stocked but I like to check it out now and again to see what they have. I go into a bit more detail about the brand in this post here and also have a few more Jordana products featured in this haul from Cherry Culture with some good swatches and info on them if you are keen to see more from the brand.

I only grabbed three things in this trip, one blush and two lipsticks, they were $4 each and are pretty damn impressive for that price! I've added links to the products on Beauty Joint, which ships worldwide (price is in USD).

BEAUTY JOINT | Haul #002 [Feat. Jordana, E.L.F. + NYC]

I had ran out of a couple of my staple E.L.F. products so hoped onto Beauty Joint and naturally couldn't resist adding a couple extras to my cart. It was all justified - have to make the most out of the shipping cost!

MOST LOVED | February '14

The second month of 2014 has again flown by, so here are all the products, music + TV that I have been loving during February. This month I finished up my summer job and have now started back at my final year at university. I am looking forward to being back and really love the papers that I will be doing, and of course, fitting in time for lots of blogging!

JORDANA | Haul from 2Cheap [NZ] Review + Swatches

If you are in NZ, you might not be too familiar with the Jordana brand, it's not stocked at Farmers, pharmacies or department stores - the only place you can find it; $2 shops. Yep, I bet many people walk past the Jordana stand while they go into find cheap dress up stuff and take no notice of it. At first I thought that these products can't be any good and was generally very dismissive of them, but after hearing rave reviews about their lipsticks in particular, on various makeup groups on Facebook, I did my first order of Jordana from Cherry Culture, which you can see my post here (includes swatches, links and all that good stuff). I was super impressed with the products, so the other week when I was walking through the mall, I stopped in at 2Cheap in Northlands Mall to find a heavily stocked Jordana stand, and yes, naturally I got very excited about it all and grabbed a few items costing me under $25!
