Although I absolutely love 'drugstore' makeup products, I think one thing that they lack, especially from the brands available in NZ, are eye shadow palettes. Obviously the big brands such as Urban Decay, LORAC and NARS hit it out of the park when it comes to palettes but the cheaper brands don't tend to live up to that standard. Lately I've been on the hunt to find some amazing ones (Chi Chi Palettes are the best so far here and here), and although I don't think these Rimmel Glam'Eyes Quads meet the standard of the higher end palettes, they are definitely great entry level palettes.
These quads come in a variety of different shades, and they are all aimed to complement a particular eye colour, although I never pay attention to that. As far as quality goes, they're good, but no where near great. The shade selections are really fun and allow you to get a bit more adventurous with your eye looks if you want, but I think they each have at least two shades which are easily wearable and fool proof. Pigmentation wise, they feel a bit powdery but are good compared to other cheaper counter parts. They do seem to blend out well, if anything some of the shades disappear if you blend them out too much!
013 SWEET SMOULDER | You get three pretty neutral-ish shades, then a super hot pink shade. All of the shades are shimmery to some degree, and weirdly the colours do work well together. The black glittery shade in this palette is a little bit chalky, but you can build up the colour to make it work.
022 THRILL SEEKER | I am a big fan of these shades together, especially the silver, khaki and smoked grey - they all make for a pretty awesome smokey eye. The golden yellow looks really nice in the inner corner and compliments the shimmery khaki well. The pigmentation overall on this four seems to be a lot better than the previous quad.
I managed to find these at my local Postie for around $5 each (a total steal, and really worth checking out). Otherwise I'm sure these will be at Rimmel stands around the world.
Have you used Rimmel eyeshadows before?
