CHI CHI | Glamorous Eye Shadow Collection ELEGANT - Review + Swatches

CHI CHI // Glamorous Eye Shadow Palette ELEGANT | Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

After going back and forth about whether or not I should try some of the Chi Chi Australia palettes, I was finally persuaded when Farmers had a buy one, get one half price sale (damn Farmers and their great sales!) so I decided on two, the Nudes (coming tomorrow) and the Elegant palette from their Glamorous Eye Shadow Collection range.

I'v heard a lot of great things about these shadows, so it was only a matter of time before I bought a palette. The decision was difficult because there are 11 palettes to chose from and all of them look beautiful! I decided on this Elegant palette because I loved the softer purple tones of this palette and I thought it would make a nice alternative to the pinks that I have in the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

The packaging is nothing flash at all, with a basic black plastic holding the pans and a clear lid, but it does feel secure and sturdy. The pans are a bit wonky inside, which could be a problem for the OCD peeps out there (it does bother me a little bit, I have to admit!) but the eye shadows themselves do all the talking and they definitely impress. There are a total of 12 shades; this one has 4 matte shades and the rest are a varying degree of shimmer and glitter finishes.

FIRST SIX | The first lot has mostly lighter shadows that make great bases or highlighting colours. The first gold shadow is one of the most gorgeous colours from the palette and compliments the purple tones beautifully.

LAST SIX | The last lot get into the more darker territory of tones, with the two lighter shadows mixed in (the white has an amazing golden sheen through it).

I love this mix of colours in this palette; the 4 matte shades feel extremely soft and buttery and cover a lighter colour to a much darker purpley brown. The shimmers are stand out, and although some are a little chunky they do soften up when blended onto the lid. As you can see the pigmentation is lovely and none of them feel chalky, or difficult to work with, plus how gorgeous are those purple taupe tones?!

Chi Chi is an Australian makeup company, which you can find at Farmers here in NZ, but they do offer worldwide shipping from their website. Via the site, this palette is AUD $22.95 and at Farmers they are just over NZD $30.00 - a total steal for 12 amazing shadows.
