EMPTIES | July '18 - Trilogy, Davroe, Rimmel, Kiehl's, Colourpop, Dermalogica + More - CassandraMyee

Not a month goes by that I don't find myself finishing a whole load of different products at once. If you regularly read my Empties posts, you'll see I tend to finish a lot of things, I don't think I use too much of a product but I always make it my aim to stick with the products otherwise as a blogger I would end up having 20 different moisturisers on the go and I would never get through them! The July's Empties is a hefty one, so let's get started.

(Apologies that this is about a month overdue, I just took an unintentional blogging break, but still wanted to get this up!)

HAIR

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo*
This one I haven't finished but I really wasn't enjoying it and found that it didn't do that great of a job at soaking up excess oil. Not a winner for me, unfortunately.

Fudge Think Big Texture Spray
I think there is still at least a third left in this can but the spray nozzle stopped working and despite my efforts to clean it, it just didn't want to work. Despite that, I really enjoyed using this and loved the texture and hold it gave to the hair.

Vo5 Smoothly Does It Tame & Shine Spray*
I've been using this product off and on for well over a year now and enjoyed using it. While my hair isn't the frizziest, I do find I get a lot of flyaways and baby hairs, so this worked well to help calm everything down so it looked really sleek. It was super lightweight in the hair and made it feel soft and silky.

Davroe Colour Senses Repair Shampoo + Conditioner*
Davroe is a new brand that I have been introduced to this year and it might just be one of my new favourite haircare brands. Not pictured is the shampoo which I have just finished but these two were a power couple. The whole Davroe line is totally vegan and natural, formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulphates, or gluten. It made my hair feel and look really amazing. It was always super clean after using them both, not weighed down and it kept my colour looking better for longer. I don't think there would be a vegan and natural hair care brand out there with products that work this well. I am super impressed.

Trilogy Body Care Botanical Body Wash*
A body wash is a shower staple and I've been using this one on and off. Trilogy is always a brand I can trust and this body wash worked well and smelt great too with rosehip, and kawakawa as the main ingredients. I love the huge bottle and the fact that it has a pump is a winner for me.

SKINCARE

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Cleansing Water All-In-1*
I am a big fan of the original Micellar Water and was interested to see if this one, designed for more oily and acne prone skin would be any different. To be honest I couldn't notice much of a difference; my skin felt a little drier perhaps after when compared to the normal one. I think I would just stick to the normal one for now.

formula 10.0.6 Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser*
I have tried the odd product from formula 10.0.6 but it's a brand I think does great products. This cleanser was pretty standard, but the scent was amazing with passionfruit and green tea. It was a light gel that foamed upon contact to damp skin. It did the job well and I would consider using it again.

Manuka Doctor ApiClear Purifying Facial Scrub*
A scrub or exfoliator is super important to have in your skincare routine as it helps to remove the dead skin build up so your skin will feel soft and look brighter. Manuka Doctor is a range that harnesses the power of purified bee venom in all of their range. I wasn't so sold on this exfoliator as I didn't feel it scrubbed enough. In saying that you could easily use it daily as it was very gentle. One thing that put me off a bit was the scent of the product itself. There are certainly other exfoliators I like more that are natural.

Maybelline Eye + Lip Makeup Remover
A standard, forever love. Doesn't sting, removes all eye and stubborn lip products with ease. Just an all-around winner.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads*
I had always been curious to try some products from this brand and these cleansing products were one of them. I really enjoyed using them and found they worked well as a gentle chemical exfoliator that you could use daily. I specifically used these in the evenings in place of a toner to make sure my skin was really clean. It helped to remove dead skin cells, helped my acne scars heal up a bit quicker and just gave my skin a bit more of a glow.

Avene Hydrance Optimale Aqua Gel-Cream*
If you want to experience beautiful French skincare, but not have to fork out too much money, look no further than Avene. Avene prides itself on providing skincare for everyone, even those with the most sensitive skin. The Aqua Gel-Cream became my regular day cream and during the cooler winter months, it provided an extra layer of hydration that I needed. It was lightweight but still felt hydrating and wasn't heavy on the skin.

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon Transformative Night Gel-Cream*
I was so sad when I made the final pump of this new night cream from Dermalogica because my skin loved it! The idea behind this is that it will rejuvenate the skin overnight, but it also has lavender in it to help you have a better sleep and I honestly think it worked wonders. It was a gel style cream that just melted into the skin on contact. The lavender scent wasn't too overpowering and my skin drunk it up! I would definitely repurchase this one again.

Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate*
This relatively new release from Kiehl's was super hyped up and I just had to try it out for myself. This serum contains high levels of Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to help visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles, boost the skin's radiance and improve the texture and minimise pores. This has some huge claims and overall I really enjoyed using it but I'm not sure how much it did for my pore size. It definitely helped to boost my skin and give it a great glow. I think I would need to use another bottle continually to see the benefits of it over time.

Vestige Verdant Infinity Eye Serum*
If you are unfamiliar with Vestige Verdant, you can read more about the brand here and a bit more about this Eye Serum as well. I've been using this Eye Serum on and off since I kindly sent it and really liked it. The roller ball applicator made it easy to apply and it instantly felt cooling as well as hydrating to the eye area. It was great to use in the morning and it helped to depuff my tired eyes.

MAKEUP + MISC

Daiso Puff + Sponge Detergent
As you may know, I am a big fan of this sponge cleanser because it just gets out all the built up foundation and concealer so quickly. It is also super cheap at only $3.50 a bottle! I always have this in my beauty stash.

Colourpop Brow Pencil in Bangin' Brunette
Another one of my favourite everyday products is this brow pencil from Colourpop. I have been using them for well over a year and tend to get through one every couple of months. This is great if you like sharp, precise brows and if you are like me, lacking in the brow department!

Freeman Beauty Infusion Cleansing Clay Mask*
I always love trying new clay masks and these one use pots from Freeman Beauty are perfect for travelling with! As far as clay masks go this one dried down quickly and helped to suck out all the gunk in my pores and make me feel much cleaner and clearer after using it.

essie Gel Setter Top Coat
My go-to top coat is definitely this one if you like the high shine finish that you get with gel manicures, this is your best at home answer. I also find it helps to keep my nails chipless for a few days longer than if I don't use it. It also dries quickly, but the one downside is that it does get a bit gloppy in the bottle after a while so you are best to replace it every few months (depending on how often you are exposing it to the air).

Rimmel #Insta Fix + Matte Translucent Powder*
The final product of this mammoth Empties post is my new favourite setting powder. Rimmel already held the top spot for me with their Stay Matte Powder, but I might just like this one a little bit better! I find this is a bit finer and really helps to keep me matte for a bit longer than usual. I like that it is translucent so it is barely detectable on the skin and it doesn't look powdery. It also works well under the eyes too. I am well into my second one of these and have almost hit pan of that one!

My August Empties isn't going to be far away but I still wanted to get this one up as a lot of these products deserved to be shared and talked about! I'll be back on track with the Empties soon.
