Can you honestly believe it is now July?! I can't at all, and by the time we know it, it is going to Christmas already! This past June saw me hunker down inside and I didn't get through as many products as I usually do, but I have found a couple of new favourites.
L'Oreal Elvive Root Lifting Dry Shampoo*
Unfortunately, this was a real dud for me. I hate to say it because other L'Oreal hair products are so stellar. This one just didn't do a whole lot for me. It did help to reduce the oil in my hair a little bit but other than that it didn't do anything for root lifting as it promised. This is one I won't be going near again.
Soap + Glory The Rushower Scent-Sational Dry Shampoo*
I have some very sad, sad news... Mecca Maxima here in NZ have STOPPED SELLING THIS!! I went in a couple of weeks ago to buy another can as I love this stuff so much to find that they won't be stocking this. I have no idea where but I am super disappointed as I know many others are too. The rest of the line is still available, just not this product. I have gone back to Batiste now, but think I will change to Colab as that is definitely the next best thing.
111Skin Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask
I got this in last years ASOS Beauty Advent Calendar and have only just got around to trying it out. I used to be against sheet masks as some just didn't fit my face or got too slippery but I am trying to get into them more. This one had the weirdest rubber-like texture but it did stay on my face and I liked the way my skin looked afterwards. The main ingredients in it are Liquorice Root and Niacinamide to help reduce redness especially of blemishes and to help reduce the appearance of sunspots. You would have to use this regularly to see results like this, but my skin certainly felt very soft afterwards and with a bit more brightness.
Tonymoly I'm Lemon Brightening Mask Sheet*
Farmers NZ (a department store) has just started stocking popular K-Beauty brand Tonymoly which is so exciting. I was sent quite a few products to try which included some of their sheet masks. I liked this one although it didn't fit my face too well. I left it on for about 30 mins and afterwards massaged the excess serum onto my skin. I could definitely see my skin looking plumper and a bit brighter too. These are only NZD $3.70 so a good price for something you only use once.
L'Oreal Pure Clay Detoxifying Gel Wash*
Last year L'Oreal launched their Clay Masks which I really love and use regularly, so I knew I would like the corresponding cleansers as well. There are 3 types available in the 3 clays; this was the charcoal one aimed to detoxify and fight blemishes. I have combination skin that is acne prone so I like a cleanser like this that will give my skin a deep cleanse without irritating it or stripping it completely of moisture. I was really impressed and would look at buying this myself.
Pixi By Petra Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner
I have been wanting to try this cult product for years and when I saw it on iHerb I ordered it straight away (you can use my code RMM029 for a discount off your order by the way!) I totally understand why people love this product and I am now a convert. It has 5% Glycolic Acid in it which acts as the liquid exfoliant and is alcohol-free. Some exfoliating toners can be really harsh on the skin, but I was using this once a day and didn't get any irritation or dryness. It just helped to make my skin look clearer by removing dead skin cells and a lot brighter. I will definitely be buying the big bottle of this now!
Maybelline Eye + Lip Makeup Remover
What's an Empties without this, huh? As you may know, I am a huge fan of this and it's the best eye makeup remover out there! Enough said!
L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara in Black
I knew I would love this mascara after it being compared to the Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced which I love. This one has become a fast favourite and I am well into my second tube. Although I was using this daily I found it dried out quite fast which doesn't generally happen that quickly for me, or perhaps I was just using it loads! It has an hourglass shape wand with lots of fluffy bristles and it gives amazing length and thickness to the lashes. It doesn't flake or clump and is easy to remove at the end of the day. It's a total winner and my new go-to.
Rimmel Brow This Way Eyebrow Gel in Clear*
A clear brow gel is one of those boring products but definitely an important one to have in your collection. This one isn't looking so clear now and was overdue being chucked out. I do rate this one, it doesn't make the brow hairs look hard and crunchy but keeps things in place throughout the day.
Covergirl Easy Breezy Micro-Fine Fill + Define Eyebrow Pencil in Honey Brown*
I think I have finally found the best dupe for the much loved Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I love that pencil but it is hard to get a hold of in NZ without ordering online so I was so excited to find that this affordable and new product from Covergirl does the exact same job. As you can see Covergirl has gone through a rebrand and along with that have launched a bunch of new products (see a few on my Instagram here). This pencil has an ultra-fine tip, it's the perfect amount of hard and soft and just makes your brows look so on point. If you need a new brow pencil, check this one out!
Have you used any of these products?
