Christmas just isn't Christmas without getting a few products from The Body Shop seasonal range and this year they have brought back two old favourites and introduced a brand new scent into their holiday range. As well as the usual body and skincare treats and gorgeous sets, they have some new makeup items perfect for this season. Last month I got to preview the new range at their Queen St before right before it was launching nationwide and let me tell you, there are some amazing products!
The three scents for the 2017 range include two old faves and a brand new scent - Vanilla Pumpkin.
The Vanilla Pumpkin scent is infused with vanilla extract from Madagascar, as well as tonka bean, hazelnut and maple syrup notes through it. If you like vanilla scents, I bet you will love this. It's available to buy in the Hand Cream, Shimmer Mist, Shower Gel and Body Butter, of course.
The returning scents are ones I love from previous years - Frosted Berries and Frosted Plum. Frosted Berries is infused with cranberry seed oil from North America along with notes of red berries, creamy white flowers and sweet vanilla. The Frosted Plum scent I think might just be my favourite of them all and has plum extract from Turkey as the main scent as well as pinky peony and magnolia. It's seriously beautiful and I can't get enough of it. Both of these scents are available in loads of different products as well as a bunch of different gift sets.
This year they really amped it up with the gift sets in a huge range of prices, they have also allowed the ability to customise your very own gift sets. You can mix and match a lot of mini-sized products, buy the packaging (there are a lot of really fun designs to chose from), and then bundle it up and make the ideal gift for someone. The Body Shop has collaborated with super cool fashion house, House of Holland to design some of their limited edition packaging. One of the coolest things is the Kiss My Lips Cosmetics Bag for NZD $14.95 (see it here).
Now on to the festive makeup! First up is the Glow For It Sparkling Body Shimmer Puff* (NZD $35) which has the House of Holland designed packaging. This is designed for the body, but can also be used on the face too. It's 100% vegan and cruelty-free like the rest of The Body Shop products. It is super glittery and shimmery and I know this will be so nice over summer.
There are two Complete Look Palettes available, with House of Holland packaging. The one I have is the We Rule The World (NZD $49.95) which includes a duo pan highlighter, eyeshadows and a cream lip product in this bright hot pink. Whilst I am not a huge fan of cream products being right beside powder products, this is a nifty palette to have and I think the pigmentation and pay off of each shade is really good.
The metallic lip trend is alive and well at the moment and The Body Shop has brought out their own offering - the Metal Lip Liquid* (NZD $19.95 each), available in six shades. These are metallic, without the huge chunks of glitter and a bit more wearable than others of a similar vein that I have seen. I was given two shades to try out 031 Rose Gold and 028 Fuchsia Chrome. They have quite thick mousse-like texture to them and dry down to a have satin finish but they will transfer. With a more neutral eye I think having a bit of metallic on the lips is a fun way to mix it up.
The final item I got to try from the Festive Makeup Range is perhaps the coolest addition and a Christmas must have - the Star Stamp Liner* (NZD $18). This has a standard liquid liner pen on one side and then a star stamper on the other end with the same liquid liner formula. It is SO fun and easy to use, the formula is great too and doesn't smudge.
As you can see there is a lot of newnesses at The Body Shop and so many great gift ideas at all different price points too. These are only around until Christmas, so you better get in quick!
