THE BRUSH BAR | A New Way To Wash + Dry Your Makeup Brushes

THE BRUSH BAR | The Brush Board + Brush Bar - CassandraMyee

I love a good beauty innovation, so when I was approached by The Brush Bar to try out their hero products I jumped on board. These products are pretty darn amazing and make the tedious but very important job of brush cleaning much easier!

There are all sorts of brush cleaning tools out there, from gloves, to things you put on your fingers, to mats that fit in the sink - there's just about everything. The Brush Board is a simple double-sided, solid plastic board with six different textures (3 on one side, and 3 on the other) to help clean a myriad of different brushes, big and small. The different textures mean that you are going to get a deep clean of the bristles, and you can easily put a small bit of soap/brush cleanser into the compartment and swirl it around until clean. It washes easily and because it's slimline you can store it away and it doesn't take up much room.

I don't know how you dry your brushes but generally, I put a few bits of paper towel down, and lay my brushes on there with the bristles hanging off the edge. I've seen a bunch of other ways to dry your brushes like propping them up with a towel along the handle so they point downward (never dry them standing upright as the water will leak down into the ferrule where the glue is that holds the bristles in!) I know Sigma has their Brush Drying Towers but these take up a lot of space and don't hold that many brushes in it. In comes the Brush Bar - it's slim and compact and you can hold 10 brushes in each bar. The prongs flip out of the case which is counterweighted along the other edge so it stays and sits flat on any surface. The prongs are various sizes to hold different brushes (as demonstrated below).

The prongs hold the brushes in well, I thought some might slip out but the prongs have this grippy plastic covering on them so it keeps the brushes hanging there until they have finished drying. Having them hanging and pointing downwards is a major plus and will help them to keep their shape and dry faster. I think it's a great invention and again, it's slimline and comes with its own velour bag so you can tuck it away when not in use.

Innovations like this make me super excited and especially when they genuinely work well and do exactly what you need them to do. They are a little pricey but for their ease of use and convenience, I can see them working for so many people! International shipping is USD $14.99 from the US.

What do you think of The Brush Bar? Is it something you could see yourself using?
