So what happens when you pair a big beauty brand with super affordable products, with one of the top beauty YouTubers? A bloody amazing palette, that's what! Shaaanxo or Shannon Harris from here in NZ teamed up with BH Cosmetics last year to make the Shaaanxo 18 Colour Eyeshadow + Lipstick Palette. BH Cosmetics have teamed up with a lot of beauty gurus in the past and I am so happy and proud of Shan that she has been able to collaborate with them too.
THE LIPSTICKS
The main thing I love about this palette is the packaging, especially one that combines sticky cream lipsticks and powders. It is designed so it opens from either side so the lipsticks and eyeshadows are separated. I have had palettes in the past that have both the creams and powders together and it's never a good mix!
There are 9 pans of various shades of lipsticks and they all have the same sort of sheeny, creamy finish. While some of the shades I really like, I don't reach for this side much at all and to be fair I mostly got it for the eyeshadows (totally worth it just for those anyway). The pigmentation is definitely there, but you have to faff with a lip brush to apply them and can't easily chuck this in your bag to touch up. For 9 pans though you do get a really good colour selection, and I particularly like the fourth one down.
THE EYESHADOWS
As I mentioned above the eyeshadows are definitely the main reason for getting this palette and they seriously impress. As with the lipsticks, there are 9 different shades in various finishes. It's a really interesting mix of shades and I like that they are all very different but they all work well together. I am really impressed with the texture and pigmentation of the shadows, and knew that Shan wouldn't bring out a collaboration if it wasn't up to her standard! There are 4 mattes and 5 shimmers and I find myself reaching for this palette a lot!
I managed to nab this palette back in October when they had it on sale for USD $11, but it normally retails for USD $14.95. They offer international shipping based on weight, and I ordered this palette and a lip liner and the shipping was USD $8.37 / NZD $11.50, which isn't too bad.
