I feel like it's been a long time since I did a good old fashioned collective haul. Most of these products I purchased myself, but there are a couple of things that have been gifted to me by PR, so I thought I would include them here.
L.A. Girl Pro Coverage HD Longwear Illuminating Foundation in Fair | NZD $19.00
On paper (or packaging) this foundation doesn't seem to make much sense. A long-wearing foundation that is also illuminating is pretty unheard of, but this one does do all of that and more! I have been using this basically every day and loving how it works for my skin. The coverage is pretty full, but the formula is very light and blends easily on the skin. It has a matte finish but it doesn't look cakey and weirdly does give the skin a bit of glow. There are 16 shades available as well as a pure white which is great for mixing. I have the lightest shade Fair and my only downside is that I think even this would be a bit too dark on very pale skin so the white mixer would be important to get also. It's got a pump and a plastic bottle so no worries of it breaking like a glass bottle and for under $20, it's a fantastic foundation.
NYX Lip Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt | NZD $16.95
I love matte liquid lipsticks, I have so many in my collection and I will admit that most of them are in this sort of rosy/neutral shade range, but I just can't get enough. The formula of these is very light and mousey and they aren't are drying on the lips like some. They last for hours and are easy to reapply without looking too drying. I would love to try some of the other shades now!
Clinique Chubby Plump + Shine Liquid Lip Plumping Gloss* | NZD $42.00
Clinique is always adding new products to their chubby stick line up and these are some new glosses. While everyone is going matte these days, it's nice to have some glossy products and these are really nice. They come packaged much like the other chubby lips but have a plastic slanted tip that dispenses the product out the top by twisting the base. These promise to plump up the lips and when you do apply them there is a slightly tingly sensation but it didn't plump them up dramatically but they do look a bit larger and the gloss helps to emphasise this too. I have two shades 04 Pink & Plenty and 01 Normous Nude, both shades are relatively sheer but do have a bit of colour, and aren't at all sticky. There are 8 shades in this lineup.
essie Gel Couture Range + Top Coat
I have been wanting to try the new Gel Couture range from essie since it was released in the States and although it hasn't had its official NZ release, I managed to find a stockist in NZ called Splash Store. They have a really great selection of shades and offer free shipping around NZ and they are only priced at NZD $9.75. I went for two shades; Fairy Tailor (a sheer, pale pink) and First View (baby blue). I was a bit disappointed with Fairy Tailor just at how sheer it is, but First View is gorgeous and needed two coats. The Top Coat (in the all white bottle) works much like the Gel Setter if you have used that. I have only worn it once but it did last a good amount of time on the nails, but I do need to try it out again.
essie Nail Polishes in Island Hopping + Cabana Boy
As a treat to myself on a lunch break I was browsing around Farmers and as always I ended up at the essie stand and gravitated straight towards this amazing mauve purple called Island Hopping. I have worn it twice since I got it and have received a couple of comments on how nice the shade was. The second bottle, Cabana Boy, I ordered from Splash Store and it is one of six limited edition iconic shades re-released with this specially printed bottle. It's a cool, pearly grey/white but quite sheer.
