MAYBELLINE | The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette - Review + Swatches

MAYBELLINE | The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

I was looking back through my drafts and found this post that I have been meaning to put up since Maybelline launched The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette* last year in a big drop of new products (see them here). Since then The Rock Nudes Palettte has been launched since, I will have my thoughts up soon on that one. For now, here is the second eyeshadow palette offering from Maybelline.

You can read my review of the original The Nudes Palette here, originally I was a fan of it but I think as I have used more and more palettes, that one has taken a back seat. The Blushed Nudes are as you might expect, pink blush tones, with some interesting grey shades too. I like that the packaging reflects the shades as well and it easy to distinguish what is what palette.

I like how they have these palettes laid out, so you can use them as quads, trios, or duos of corresponding shades. The palette has a sturdy plastic shell, and no mirror housing the 12 shades.

So how does The Blushed Nudes perform? There are certainly some shades that are much more pigmented than others with a lack of consistency across the shades. As you can see some of the metallics are really nice, the light mattes show up much more than the darker mattes do (the last shade is one of the worst). Despite the uneven pigmentation, they don't feel chalky at all, but they are a little powdery on some. You can blend them easily and they are able to be built up. It's certainly not the worst palette although as this price point I think now there are some better quality alternatives. It's a shame really as overall Maybelline are one of my favourites brands and I have liked their quads in the past.

The Blushed Nudes is NZD $29.99 and available from any Maybelline stockist.

Have you used this palette before? What do you think of it?
