M.A.C | Nutcracker Sweet Christmas Collection - Review + Swatches

M.A.C | Nutcracker Sweet Christmas Collection - Review + Swatches

For my last beauty post of the year (I'll be taking a little break over Christmas and NY, more details on Sunday), I thought it would be oh so appropriate to share some other products from the extensive and gorgeous M.A.C. Nutcracker Sweet Collection. I recently reviewed the Nude Mini Lipstick Kit here, which my Dad bought back from the US with him, but a surprise parcel arrived last week filled with these products from the range.

M.A.C | Nutcracker Sweet Christmas Collection - Review + Swatches

M.A.C always get it right with the packaging and this collection totally delivers; the bright pink, purple and gold accents looks amazing and festive in an untraditional way. There are gift sets galore that include a variety of different M.A.C products all housed in cute makeup bags, or gift boxes. There are also individual items, such as the lipsticks, eyeshadows, eye kohls and a pigment. Although Christmas is only a few days away (how crazy!), this collection is on counter til the end of the month, so there is still time to pick up a few goodies from it.

Magic Dust Eyeshadow in Dark Lullaby* | NZD $56.00
The Magic Dust formula is a new one from M.A.C that promises long-wearing shimmering pearl powder in a silky texture. These feel very buttery and apply really well to the lids. They pack a lot of pigment with your finger, but a brush does a nice job to diffuse the colour and blend. There are six shades in this formula; Dance Flowers Dance (light pink), Pretty Dainty (pink coral shimmer), Forward March (peachy gold shimmer), Rabblerouser (bright intense pink), and Mustache (black with gold sparkle)

Eye Kohl in Prunella* | NZD $40.00
I have never used a M.A.C Eye Kohl before but now I want to get more shades as these have a great formula. You can work them into the lash line and smudge them out, which works really nice with this deep shimmery purple. There is one other shade available; Powersurge which is a bronzed brown with golden shimmer.

Lipsticks in So Good For You + Kingdom of Sweets* | NZD $44.00 each
I was sent two out of the five limited edition shades available. So Good For You is in their matte formula and is described as an intense cool red, but it does come off quite bright with a lot of pink tones to it. Kingdom of Sweets is a cremesheen, soft milky pink. This is way too pale for me as you can, but I think mixed with other darker shades could create some interesting tones. The other three shades are; Saucy Litte Darling (amplified creme, deep coral-red), Leap of Delight (matte, deep plum purple) and Flamboyish (matte, hot deep pink).

The whole collection is amazing and there are loads of gift sets too, definitely not one to miss out on if you love limited edition collections!

Have you got anything from this collection?
