ARDELL | Pro Brow Defining Kit + Pro Brow Pomade - CassandraMyee

You might know Ardell for their false lashes, but now they have branched out to offer more cosmetics products in the form brow products. They've recently come out with a host of new brow bits so they are always looking #onfleek, with a pomade, brow kit, and brow gels. Read on to hear my thoughts on some of these new products.

PRO BROW DEFINING KIT* | NZD $29.99
I am one who love a brow pencil, or pomade and don't find that powders really do much for my brows. Mine are quite sparse and thin, so I need something more robust in them, however if you have great brows, or you like a softer and natural look, brow powders may be a good option for you. The kit comes with four powders, a wax grooming pencil, a small slanted brush in the palette and then a large slanted Brow Brush with a spoolie on the other end. The inclusion of the large spoolie and brush is a great idea and mean you don't have to go out and purchase a single one from another brand; it also does the trick really well. You can find swatches a couple of photos down, but the powders aren't overly pigmented which is a good thing in this case as you can build them up.

Out of the four shades, there is a white shimmery shade, used to highlight the brow bone and then a selection of three brow colours, that would suit most hair colours. The bottom right is a great fit for me, as it's a bit more cooler toned. Once you've used the powders, you can run the wax grooming pencil through them to set them down and lock the colour in. You can also use the pencil before you put the colour through to really help it adhere to the brows. Although this kit wouldn't be my first choice, those who prefer to use this sort of thing would really enjoy it.

PRO BROW POMADE IN MEDIUM BROWN* | $16.99
Brow pomades are all the rage at the moment, especially after Anastasia Beverly Hills launched their Dipbrow Pomade (which I have used and enjoy). I think this one from Ardell is definitely comparable to the ABH one and performs in the brows very well. These can take a little bit to get used too - what I like to do is take a slanted brush (such as the one included) dip it in the pomade a couple of times and then remove the excess into the interior of the lid. I then work in short strokes creating the illusion of hairs and defining the shape. It may take a couple more dips into the pot but the pigmentation is really great that a small amount can go a long way. Pomades help to give a very crisp and sharp brow when compared to using powders, they also set down and last a bit better in my opinion. It comes in three shades; blonde, medium brown (swatch below) and dark brown.
