Nutri-Synergy Natural NS-5 Cuticle + Nail Complex
This came in the May Violet Box box (see it here) I received a few months back and I've finally come to the end of the tube, which I got a lot of use out of. I was using this at night before bed and slathering it on my nails and cuticle area and it definitely helped in the nourishing and moisturising department. It was a lot thicker than your average hand cream and a little went a long way. I really liked this and would definitely purchase this again, I just need to find a stockist!
John Plunkett Essentials Glyco Peel Night Time Exfoliator
This was my first foray into chemical exfoliants and I am now a total convert! At first it felt a bit scary putting acid on my face; it does sting a teeny bit, but that goes away after a few second and in the mornings after using this my skin feels, and looks, a heck of a lot better than it did the day before. I didn't use this every day, instead alternated each week and would use this every couple of days after cleansing and replaced my toner step with this. This came in the June Violet Box (love those things) and then I received this in the June Lust Have It box, so I was glad that I had another to use straight away!
Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes
Now this empties is turning into a bit of a 'what I used up from beauty subscription boxes', because this set of wipes came in the August Goodie Box. I think I've also talked about these in a previous empties post, but these are some of the better wipes I've tried. They are, as promised, gentle on the skin and do a good job at removing makeup, but not very heavy eye makeup. I'd likely buy these again as they are cheap and good quality.
Batiste Dry Shampoo Fresh Scent
A can of this pops up in most Empties, because I go through this stuff very quickly! I've been using the one specifically for Brunettes and I absolutely love that, but it is about $20 for a can compared to the $6 you pay for these ones at The Warehouse. But I realised I need the Brunette one because this definitely leaves me with a slight grey cast that I just can't get past - I just wish the coloured ones were a bit cheaper! If you're a blonde, lucky you, because this stuff is so cheap and easily the best dry shampoo out there!
Obiqo Gentle Face Wash
I've had this sitting in my bathroom cupboard for a while and it came in a Sample Box (how ancient!) yonks ago, so I finally finished it up. I feel a bit meh about it to be honest, the scent was a bit strange, and the cleanser did its job fine but was nothing special. It's a brand I had never heard of and I haven't seen it anywhere in NZ, so it is highly unlikely I will purchase it.
Maybelline Baby Lips in Anti-Oxidant Berry
Second to Vaseline, the Baby Lips are my favourite on-the-go lip balms and I've got them scattered in bags, on my desk, in my pencil case, you name it! I actually wrote a post about my stash of these a wee while back (see it here) and out of all of them I really love this particular scent and I'll be buying another one for sure!
Maybelline Make Up Remover Eye & Lip
So if you have been a long time reader, you will know that I absolutely loved the original Maybelline Clean Express Remover and it cropped up in Empties galore (see it here), and then they decided to discontinue it. But on the bright side, they replaced it with pretty much the exact same thing, just gave it a new name and new bottle, but it is just as amazing. It doesn't sting, it's gentle and it gets rid of even the most stubborn eye makeup, will forever repurchase this!
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Well not technically an 'empty', but it has indeed reached the end of its life. I love this sponge and over the past few months I've been using it daily and it makes such a difference to how my foundation sits and looks on my skin. It helps to blend everything smoothly, and even after using a brush I will dab over with this to make sure my base is looking as good as it can. I've already bought a brand new one from iHerb and at USD $6.00, this is a must have for anyone!
And that's all my Empties for October. No make up items, because I very rarely get through make up because I like trying new things far too much! Let me know if you have used any of these products and what you think about them.
