Time has really got away from this month and I realised that I hadn't done my End of Month Review for the August Goodie Box! Because I cancelled it after this one I forgot that it has been well over a month since I last received, so here are my thoughts on each product. Overall I thought it was a great box and I've ended up really liking most of the products that were inside, if you want to see more details and images of the contents, check out my Unboxing + Initial Thoughts here. Goodie Box is a NZ monthly subscription service, where you pay $33.50 a month to receive around five-six products, including full sized and samples. The total of this box came to around $70.00.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 020 Lovesick // [RRP $22.50 (2.7g)]
I'm a huge fan of Revlon lip products and this Balm Stain was no disappointment. First off I was so happy with the colour I received and it is a gorgeous bright pink, which can be applied with a sheer finish or with a more intense pop of colour. I love the minty scent and tingle it leaves once you apply it, and the stain lasts for a good 3 to 4 hours, long after the initial layer has rubbed away. I had it on in this Instagram selfie if you want to check it out the colour on the lips.
EcoStore Extra Nourishing Body Lotion // [Full Size RRP $15.00 (220ml)]
This little bottle came in very handy this month as I was doing a bit of travelling and it's a great handbag size bottle. The lotion is very light and dries into the skin almost instantly. For some strange reason this really smells like Gingernut biscuits, a bit weird I know, is that just me? Anyway, it's a really nice lotion and is cruelty free with no chemicals and is packed with all good things for your skin like coconut oil, jojoba and shea butter.
Angel Professional Argan Active Oxygen Instant Repair Shampoo & Conditioner // [Full Size RRP $29.95 each (300ml)]
In the box I received two sample sachets, one of each; the conditioner and the shampoo. Both were really nice to use. They were a lightish yellow in colour, due to the argan oil I presume, smelt really nice, and the combo left my hair feeling super clean but also really soft and smooth throughout the day.Putting argan oil in shampoo etc. is a really great idea and I wish more brands would get on board with it!
Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes // [Full Size RRP $9.50 (25 wipes)]
I've had these wipes before and really like them, plus this smaller trial size was so handy for the travelling I was doing. They don't feel stripping to the skin and get rid of makeup really well, you do have to work a bit harder on the eye makeup so I like to use a separate remover for that job and just use the wipes on my face before cleansing. They're definitely kind to skin, feel gentle but do the job well and are wipes I'd definitely buy again.
Glamourflage Halo Helen Facial Cleanser // [RRP $22.50 (100ml)]
I was very interested to try this cleanser, as it's from a brand I hadn't heard of and the packaging looks very cool. I have the green apple scent and it definitely smells like apples, but more of the fake, lolly flavouring if you get what I mean. As cleansers go, it's nothing special, it does a good enough job and doesn't leave the skin feeling stripped or dried out after using. It has a very lotion like feeling, that doesn't foam up or lather, it just stays very creamy. I'll continue to use it, but I wouldn't buy it again.
Comvita Manuka Pure Hydrating Night Moisturiser // [Full Size RRP $55.00 (50ml)]
This was a really great product to try out, from a new NZ based skincare brand. This is aimed at dry skin but I found my combination skin really benefited from using it a couple of times a week. I just used two pumps and spread it over my face and neck; and for a night moisturiser it feels very light weight and sunk into the skin quickly. I'm not sure I'd rush out and purchase the full sized, but I'm glad to have tried it.
Overall, I'm happy - much happier than I was with the July box. I don't think I would rejoin this service because I think Violet Box and Lust Have It have proved to be a lot better with the products you get for the price you pay.
