RECENT EMPTIES | December + January '19 - Cassandra Myee

I have been pretty slack when it comes to getting these Empties posts up, and even though it is nearing the end of April I still want to share my thoughts on all of these products. I find reviews of people's empty products the most helpful as they should have a pretty clear idea of how the product worked for them and if they'd use them again. So without further ado, here are my thoughts on a whole bunch of beauty products.

Colab Dry Shampoo Paradise
Each time I use a can of Colab, I remember how much I like using it! It is available more readily here in NZ and you can now find it in a lot of supermarkets. I would definitely pick this one over Batiste - I love the scents they have and I find this one doesn't leave a white cast at all.

Soap & Glory The Rushower ScentSational Dry Shampoo
Although I really like the Colab one above, this one from Soap & Glory still reigns supreme. I had a freak out last year when I realised that Mecca Beauty here in NZ had stopped stocking it, but when Christmas came around it was back in stock. To say I was excited is an understatement, and I may have bought 5 can to stash away... It is seriously good dry shampoo, no white cast, no residue, just volumised, light and clean looking and feeling hair. I will come back to this time and time again!

OGX Detoxifying Pomegranate & Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner*
I am not very fussy when it comes to shampoo and conditioner and I am lucky my hair is quite resilient and not very high maintenance. This was a great duo, the scent was lovely and it did all the right things I would like from a shampoo and conditioner. It is designed to degunk the hair of dry shampoo and product build-up, if you are a big user of dry shampoo and the like, using this duo at least once a week would help immensely! I am a fan of the OGX line as a whole so I would definitely repurchase from them again.

Avene Eau Thermale Cleanance Micellar Water*
Avene is definitely up there with one of my favourite skincare lines, each product I have tried seems to always impress me. This Micellar Water was a recent launch for them and this huge bottle lasted me for ages! This Micellar Water worked as well as I could hope, helping to remove my makeup if I was feeling a bit lazy, or as a second step to remove any excess left over after cleansing (generally those pesky bits of mascara under the eyes!) It was gentle, left no residue and didn't leave my skin starved of moisture afterwards. I would totally recommend this one.

The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Toner
This Toner from The Body Shop has been my go-to for years and it is always one I come back. I get oily in my t-zone but dry on the outer areas of my face and the Seaweed range is designed to help balance just that. I will continue to repurchase this as I trust that it works well for my skin and isn't overly expensive.

Snowberry So Soft Cleanser*
You would have seen the Snowberry Cleanser trio featured on my blog last year in a series of sponsored posts (which you can read here). I finally got to the end of the So Soft tube and I am so sad about it! This was a lovely cleaner to use, very gentle but effective.

Tailor Skincare Polish Every Other Day Scrub + Mask*
Tailor Skincare is a Wellington-based, all natural skincare brand that is absolutely nailing it at the moment. The Tailor Polish is one of their cult faves and I can definitely see why it gets rave reviews. This is vegan and can be used on all skin types as a mask, scrub and a spot treatment. It's got a clay base with pumice powder to help exfoliate. After each use, it would leave my skin feeling very soft and with a bit more of a glow. I would really recommend it and a great way to support an NZ brand.

Skin by Ecostore Replenishing Night Cream*
I've only known Ecostore to make cleaning products, but when they released their skincare line it was a no brainer! I have used a couple of things and have enjoyed them so far - this Night Cream certainly impressed. It had a lightweight texture and felt nice to apply to the skin. It definitely left my skin more hydrated.

Trilogy Age Proof CoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate*
I have used a lot of different eye creams over my time and most are just a bit same-same and it takes a lot for me to fall in love with one. I liked this one but didn't love it. It did work well to smooth my undereye area and help with hydration but it wasn't anything ground-breaking. It is designed for more mature skins, so perhaps my skin just wasn't the right fit for it.

Goodness Every Morning Moisturiser*
If you need a basic moisturiser that you can trust, look no further than Goodness. Goodness is the younger sister brand of Trilogy and all the products are natural. I really like the brand overall and this moisturiser always does its job well for me. It works well for my combination skin and doesn't get too greasy over the course of the day but keeps me hydrated.

Daiso Puff Sponge Detergent
Here's a product that pops up in these Empties very often. This is my holy grail for cleaning my makeup sponges and brushes and I have also found it works wonders for my Face Halo's as well. It literally just makes the makeup disappear from the sponges - it is amazing and only $3.50 a bottle from my favourite Japanese store Daiso.

Colourpop Precision Brow Pencil in Brunette + Brow Boss Pencil in Dark Brown
When it comes to brows, I am a simple girl and these two pencils from Colourpop never ever let me down. I couldn't even count how many I have been through of these and continually stock up on them when I do an order. The Precision Brow Pencil is for days I want them crisp, and defined, whereas the Brow Boss is for a more natural but still precise brow. The pencil is a lot harder so you don't get as harsh a line when compared to the Precision Pencil.

Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder
I like to shop on iHerb a lot, and they have really expanded their beauty selection heaps over the past couple of years. I was excited to see this Korean beauty brand on there and bought this powder as Shaaaanxo had recommended it in one of her videos a while back. It is such a nice powder - it is loose, and translucent once applied to the skin but it helps to blur pores and lines and sets makeup down without looking cakey. I would happily buy this again, but I wish it came in a bigger size!

e.l.f. Cosmetics HD Undereye Setting Powder
This was my go-to setting powder for under my eyes for many many years. It is a great powder and helps to set and also provides a bit of brightness. I don't have a replacement of it yet but will likely buy one soon, plus it is so affordable!

The Body Shop Mint Mattifying Face Mist*
I love face mists, and especially love ones that help to mattify and make my makeup last throughout the day. This one isn't as good as some others (i.e. Urban Decay All Nighter which is incredible), but it does do the trick and harnesses natural ingredients to do so.

Phew, that was a big Empties, and would you believe there is an even bigger one coming for the recent months... I am a little bit behind on my blog posts but intend to catch up!
