I need eyeshadow palettes like a hold in the head, but does it stop me from buying them? Hell no! They are one of my favourite makeup items and with all the holiday releases I just can't resist. Last year MECCA MAX (home brand of Mecca Maxima) launched the Eyes To The Max Palette (see my review of it here), and it sold out so quickly and was super popular. I love it and still use it now, so when I saw that MECCA MAX was releasing another one I knew I was going to have to get it.
The Eyes On You Eyeshadow Palette definitely steps up the game from last years palette. The packaging is much stronger and sturdier, and they nailed it with a more diverse shade range in this 25 pan palette.
FIRST + SECOND ROW
The first 10 shadows are all of the sorts of shades one could ask for in a neutral palette. The metallics and shimmer have really nice pigmentation, while the mattes aren't quite as pigmented but still nothing to be looked down on.
THIRD + FOURTH ROW
Getting into the next rows is where the shades get a little darker with pops of colour. These are all so pigmented and beautiful to use. The top shimmers are really beautiful and I love the indigo shade that can be mixed and matched with various other tones to create some really interested and diverse shadow looks.
FIFTH ROW
The fifth row features some super bright tones and a good staple deep grey that is almost black. The mattes of these pinks and the blue are so pigmented which really surprised me as these sorts of shadows are hard to get right.
Overall for a palette of this size featuring 25 shadows you are getting a lot of diversity of colours and finished, whilst also still containing shades that are easy to wear with some fun. unexpected shades. The best part is is that this palette is only NZD $44, so around $1.76 per shadow. In my mind that is an absolute steal.
