REVOLUTION MAKEUP | New Releases Haul

REVOLUTION MAKEUP | New Releases Haul - CassandraMyee

Revolution Makeup (formally known as Makeup Revolution... or is it also still known as that too?!) has recently been launched into one of New Zealand's largest department stores in NZ, Farmers and they kindly sent me some new releases and products that they will be stocking in celebration. I do want to note that Beauty Bliss was actually the very first stockists of the brand here in NZ a couple of years back, and if you want to buy online and support an awesome small business I would definitely check them out. They were great supporters of my blog from the early days and the small team work so hard to bring a lot of brands that would otherwise be non-existent to us NZ beauty lovers. I would really encourage you to check out their range and also the selection of other awesome brands they stock. Ok, now let's dive into the products themselves.

Sport Fix Extra Hold Makeup Fixing Spray*
I am all about a fixing spray particularly as my skin can get pretty shiny throughout the day. This one has a good fine mist but boy is it heavy on the alcohol scent. It does work to keep things in place but may cause a bit more dryness than other fixing sprays.

Bake & Finish Luxury Baking Powder*
I don't do the full on 'baking' process with loose powder that you may see some beauty gurus doing, but I do like using a loose powder like this for dusting under the eyes and setting any creams. This so far has been really nice to use. The powder is super light so it does tend to fly all over the place a bit but blends into the skin with ease and looks undetectable.

Liquid Highlighter Unicorn Elixir*
One thing Revolution do so well is their Liquid Highlighters. I have used one other in my collection and it is full on, high shine and so pretty.  This is one of their holographic ones and it looks a bit like snot in the swatch but it has this amazing holographic, iridescent to it. A little bit goes a long way with this one and I could imagine it looking amazing mixed in with other cream products for an all-over sheen.

Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour*
This product was definitely influenced by Tarte's cult Tape Shape Concealer which I am yet it try. This stuff is full on and will cover just about anything. There are 25 shades and at NZD $10 a tube, this stuff is worth the money and some. The shade I have is C1, the third lightest and is for fair skin tones with a neutral undertone. There should be a shade to suit most.

Iconic Matte Nude Lipstick in Expose*
Revolution does affordable lipsticks really well and I love this rose gold tubed lipstick in this gorgeous peachy pink with a comfortable matte finish. The pigmentation is really good and the formula is smooth.

Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette*
Revolution do eyeshadows palettes really well - I have a couple in my collection (see the swatches and reviews here and here) and am impressed with the quality. I feel like this palette, however, has stepped it up another notch. I only swatched a few shades for this post but was really surprised by the pigment of them. The last shade had an almost creamy texture with an insane depth of pigment. This selection of shades is very on trend at the moment and it's a great way to try these sorts of cranberry pink tones without having to spend too much.

Soph Highlighting Palette*
This palette was done in collaboration with British Youtuber SophDoesNails and it is a beaut. I didn't know what to expect with the quality but these are pigmented and smooth and aren't at all chunky. The shades included are all very wearable but still versatile. If you are into your glow, this is one to check out.

So that is just some of the new products out at the moment which you will be able to find at your local Farmers stores and also from Beauty Bliss in NZ.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of Revolution as a brand?
