You all know by now that I love to try new products and new brands. I was recently approached by the brand Lauren & Louise Cosmetica and asked if I wanted to try some of their range. Prior to this, I had never heard of the brand, but after a bit of research, it was definitely a brand I was intrigued about and wanted to share it with you all.
The brand was founded in my hometown of Christchurch, NZ by Pip McGregor. She has been in the beauty industry for years and runs a micro pigmentation clinic in Christchurch called Making Faces. This woman knows a heck of a lot about beauty, and with her background, it's no surprise that the products are really top notch.
Lauren & Louise is available online through their website and at various salons around the country (many are Christchurch based) - see a list of the stockists here. The products blend nature and science with mineral-based formulas that are all hypo-allergenic. The overall branding is very sleek with black packaging and gold accents. It's nothing too flashy but they do feel luxe.
Retexturising Face Primer* | NZD $59
I always love using a primer and find it can benefit your makeup application greatly. This primer has an SPF 20 and has a lightweight formula that feels like a light gel when you apply it. It blends in and sinks into the skin with ease to create a smooth base. The tube application is a winner for me too.
Foundation Stick in Soft Creme* | NZD $67
While I tend to be a liquid foundation sort of girl, foundation sticks are a multi-use product that can be used as a concealer or all over the face. This one, as you can see, is highly pigmented with medium to full coverage once blended out. There are 7 shades available, all on the lighter side of the spectrum.
Powder Illuminator* | NZD $63
The swatch doesn't do this highlighter justice because it looks beautiful on the skin. There are three shades available, and I have shade 2 which is slightly more golden. It is a very fine powder that doesn't look chunky on the skin and blends really well. I think it is definitely my favourite product from what I have tried.
Luxury Lipstick in Pink Truffle* | NZD $42
Their lipstick line is extensive with 24 shades available in all sorts of gorgeous shades. There is a cream and a matte formula available; Pink Truffle (above) is in their cream formula. It is rich with pigment, very creamy and glides on easily. I think this shade is perfect for that 'my lips but better' sort of shade.
Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Haute Cocoa* | NZD $49.90
As well as the traditional lipsticks they have the Velvet Liquid Lipsticks and also a Matte Liquid Lipstick range too. There are 24 shades of the Velvet finish - these are more of a lip gloss sort of product but with high coverage pigmentation and are more long lasting on the lips.
Waterproof Gel Lip Liner in 04 Guava* | NZD $34
I love lip liners and find I reach for them over my lipsticks as they usually last a lot longer. There are 5 shades available in tones to suit most lipsticks. I was surprised at how smooth and creamy this lip liner was and I really like it on its own or paired with a lipstick over top.
Brow Mascara in Brunette* | NZD $49.90
Brow mascaras aren't essential but they can definitely up your brow game. This works well to set down the hairs and give fullness and body to the brows. The bristles are super thin and fine so they grab onto each little hair. There are 3 shades available.
