EMPTIES | February '18 - Soap + Glory, The Body Shop, Esteé Lauder + More - CassandraMyee

Time for another Empties post, featuring all the products that I finished up in January. There isn't as many as last months, but still, some of my staples came to an end as well as some newer products I have been trialling.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil
This is a product I come back to time and time again. I have been through countless bottles of it and I absolutely love the way it breaks down makeup, removes it and doesn't leave behind an oily residue on the skin. It feels amazing on the skin and is the perfect product to remove stubborn makeup. I really like the solid 'butter' version of this as well and it is a bit more travel-friendly as this one can leak like crazy!

Olay 7 in One Anti Aging Night Cream*
I've recently been trying quite a few Olay products and started using this one when I finished up another night cream. This is definitely suited for mature/dry skin as it is quite rich but is very moisturising. I am not sure how much it did on the anti-aging front but my skin didn't get any worse and always felt soft and well hydrated the next morning. Olay is a great 'supermarket' brand and I think they produce some really good skincare products that aren't too pricey.

Maybelline Eye + Lip Make Up Remover
Should I even keep including this in my Empties because there is always at least one bottle a month! It is just such good stuff and it's cheap too. It removes it all and doesn't sting or dry my skin out. A forever repurchase.

Nip+Fab Hydrate Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Serum*
I have finally tried out the hyped skincare line Nip+Fab and I totally get why it is adored so much! This serum was super lightweight and it worked well morning and night. It really just made my skin look and feel great. The main ingredients are; dragon's blood (from the Croton Lechleri tree - who knew this was a thing?!), anyway it helps to put a protective film on the skin, velvet flower for hydration and to help the skin glow, gransil EP-9 to smooth and absorb excess oil (yay for me!), and hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin and refine the texture of the skin. It was a beautiful serum to use and one that I am really going to miss applying!

Johnny's Chop Shop Asian Wild Car Strong Hair Clay Matt Hold*
My boyfriend is back with his quick product review as he finished this up during January and wanted it to be included in my Empties! He said that it was good and he would buy it again. He was also impressed with how long it lasted him (about half a year) and that it smelt good and had a good texture and hold.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical
I really like the Batiste dry shampoos and it is clear as to why they are so popular. The only thing is you do get a bit of a grey/white cast on the hair (especially if you have darker locks), which you need to really work in or brush out. It definitely works to absorb oil and refreshes the hair instantly.

Soap + Glory The Rushower Scent-sational Dry Shampoo
Although Batiste was my go-to for a long time, I have found a new dry shampoo which takes top shelf. I tried a mini of this from Mecca Maxima and was so impressed with it I had to get a full sized right away. It doesn't leave a white cast like Batiste can do, and I feel like this just works a bit better and also doesn't make the hair feel like it's got a whole lot of product in it. It smells good and these big cans are only $7 from Mecca Maxima here in NZ - that's a pretty good price considering some of the coloured versions of Batiste can be $15ish.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup in Intensity 01*
You can see here that I wanted to get the very last drop of this foundation out of the tube, so I had to cut the top off it! I was so sad to see this finish because it works so well for my skin and also because to replace it, it's expensive in my eyes for a foundation. I did, however, bite the bullet and get a new one as I couldn't be without it! It's not as heavy as Double Wear, but provides medium coverage, and lasts me throughout the day.

Skindinavia Makeup Setting Spray*
I love a setting spray and always use one when I finish my makeup, I think it helps with longevity and also helps to settle everything in and take away any excess powder. I totally get why this one is so good and why Urban Decay uses Skindinavia to make all of their setting sprays. The mist is very fine and even and I always notice that it makes my makeup last a lot longer than without it. This is a must for the warmer months!

Maybelline Baby Lips! Dr. Rescue
This was one of my handbag lip balms (we all have a few floating around the bottom of our bag right?) I really like the Baby Lips range, they're not the most moisturising, so if you have dry lips you might want something a bit more heavy duty but for a quick balm on the go it worked well for me. It was just clear as well and not tinted like some of them are.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge [x2]
My favourite tool to apply my foundation and concealer are these sponges from Real Techniques. I realised how manky these were getting so chucked them away and have started using brand new ones. They just help to apply my makeup so evenly and you don't get any obvious lines like you can get with a brush.

What products did you finish during the past month?

*PR Samples.
