As an absolute beauty lover, M.A.C limited edition collections are some of my favourite things to purchase. I see them as collector's items and just obsess over the collabs and various packaging they do with each new collection. They have recently launched two collections, the Fruity Juicy range (no longer available, sadly) and the Steve J + Yoni P collaboration. I quickly jumped onto the M.A.C US site and made a pretty decent order using YouShop to get it to me in NZ (a lot cheaper doing it this way!)
FRUITY JUICY
If this collection doesn't make you wish you were lying poolside with a cocktail on a tropical island then I don't know what will! This collection came out earlier this year with a pretty big release of products. I knew I had to get one of the lipsticks (they are my main vice when collecting - gotta catch em' all product). I went for the shade Si, Si, Me!, a satin lipstick described as a cool berry (USD $16). It is seriously beautiful and the satin finish is one of the better ones from M.A.C.
I could not resist the Pearlmatte Face Powder in Oh My, Passion (USD $33) I mean, look at that packaging and look at the design on the powder. I don't think I am going to be able to bring myself to use this much, but it can be used as a blush or highlight and when swirled together it has a nice golden sheen.
STEVE J & YONI P
This collection is still available on the website and also on counters in NZ and is definitely one you do not want to miss out on. Steve J and Yoni P are Korean fashion designers who have lent their designs and visual intrigue to this collection. The packaging is so on point as you can see, so I opted for two things from the range. First off is the Powder Blush in Peony Petal (USD $23), a bright blue pink with a satin finish, and secondly the Amplified Lipstick in Spotlight Me (USD $17), a light peachy nude.
Nowadays M.A.C are including some pretty good samples in each order, so I received a mini sized False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara which I have been quite liking. The final product I bought was this totally 'me' M.A.C Select Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Preferentially Yours (USD $21). There are two exclusive shades which you can only purchase if you are a M.A.C Select member (it's easy to sign up), and this dirty mauve shade is right up my street!
All up the shipping from Youshop was only NZD $16 and it arrived in about a week from the time it arrived at the warehouse. I love buying via. the US site as you get it at a much more affordable price and often times the collection's launch a little bit earlier on there. I still buy the odd thing from the counters, but when I know I want to drop some serious cash on some new makeup I go online!
