NARS | Dual-Intensity Blush + Eyeshadow - Review + Swatches

NARS | Dual Intensity Blush + Eyeshadow - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

My past couple of posts have been featuring products that are very affordable and at a 'drugstore' price point, well today I am going the opposite with some products from cult fave, NARS. The sleek black and white packaging and bold font is instantly recognisable and so covetable. I don't own a huge amount from the brand, but those things that I do, I love! I recently got some new products (to me) from the Dual-Intensity range including own of their duo pan blush compacts and a gorgeous single eyeshadow.

The Dual Intensity products come housed in the typical NARS black packaging, with that rubberised feel to it. The eyeshadow is simply a mini version of the blush packaging and it's oh so cute. The powders inside are embossed with a corner line pattern going across the powder - they look and feel luxurious (which you hope when spending a little bit more on your beauty products!)

The formula of these products is extremely unique - they almost feel like a cream as the powders are buttery, smooth and apply like a dream. I got the eyeshadow shade in Dione, a metallic champagne beige, which when applied dry gives a slightly more sheer finish, but if you use them damp it amps them up incredibly. A spritz on a brush with some setting spray and then dabbed into the shadow makes them look wet on the lids with a high metallic finish. I am so keen to get some more shades as this one has me hooked. There are 20 shades available and they have brought them out in palettes previously also.

The Dual-Intensity Blush offers two different blush shades in the one pan. I have the shade Panic, which includes a shimmering shocking fuchsia, and a shimmering orange pink. These are extremely bright and vibrant and definitely a bit more daring than the blushes I generally go for, but the beauty with them is the ability to keep them relatively sheer on the skin or really amp it up. As with the eyeshadows, they are very pigmented with the same butter texture and can be used dry or damp. There are six other colour options, one which would make a good highlight and bronzer (Craving) and others which contain a blush colour and highlighter.

Obviously, with any NARS products, they aren't the cheapest, but you can find these at Mecca in NZ for NZD $46.00 for the eyeshadows and NZD $71.00 for the blush duo. You can get them for a slightly cheaper price on StrawberryNet - $42.00 for the shadows and $62.50 for the blushes.

Have you used the Dual-Intensity formula before?
