L'OREAL PARIS | New Makeup Launches 2017 - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

L'Oreal Paris has got to be one of the most iconic makeup brands, I practically knew the brand from a baby and have always been familiar with and when I started getting into makeup I would always want to try their products. Every 6 months or so, they drop a whole load of new releases into the market, and earlier this year we were treated to some pretty fantastic new products.

L'OREAL PARIS | New Makeup Launches Feb/March 2017 - CassandraMyee

Infallible Total Cover Full Coverage Longwear Foundation* | NZD $39.99
I was sent two shades of L'Oreal's latest foundation in 09 Light Sand (lightest shade) and 10 Porcelain. I had high hopes for this as it promises everything I could want; full coverage with stretch technology so it doesn't sit and cake on the skin and a satin/matte finish. The formula of this is a lot thicker than what I was expected, it takes a bit to blend out, but once it does you are left with amazing coverage and finish. Unfortunately, after a couple of hours, this just started to get so oily on me (more than normal) and just wasn't looking that flash. If you have normal or dry skin this might work well but for oily girls, this isn't the most ideal, or be prepared to blot the crap out of your face every couple of hours. There are six shades available in total.

Infallible Total Cover Full Coverage Longwear Concealer Palette* | NZD $29.99
On the flip side, this new concealer palette should be a makeup collection staple. It's in a sturdy and slim black plastic case and inside are five concealers. There are two 'correcting' shades in purple/lilac, and green for counteracting redness, dullness and brightening the skin, and then three concealer shades. These are very creamy to use but last once they are blended on the skin and they do provide full cover. The downside is that the palette only works well for light to medium skintones, those with a darker complexion will struggle to make the concealer shades work.

True Match Highlight Powder Glow Illuminator Blush + Highlight* | NZD $21.99
Whilst split pans of colours like this don't generally do it for me, I do find the shades in the new highlighters to work well. They are a little on the chunkier side but when swirled together you can get a lovely golden glow, alternatively, you can use each shade on its own. There are two shades available, the above is Golden, and the other is Rose with more pink tones.

Color Riche La Palette Ombre* | NZD $37.99
I am no stranger to the La Palette range and own the two other colour ways in Beige and Rose (review and swatches of both of them here), so I was really excited to see they are launching a new selection of shades. This one is a little all over the place and not totally cohesive but I kind of like that. I was instantly drawn to the palette, probably because of the geometric imprint the blush shade has (something a little bit different and unique for L'Oreal!) The shade range sort of has a bit of everything going on. There are mattes, shimmers and a couple of more chunkier glitters. The pigmentation varies between each of them, some I really like and others are little hard to work with. Overall it's a nice palette but not one I would recommend, definitely got for the Beige or Rose palettes as the quality is much more consistent with those.

Brow Artist Maker* | NZD $24.99
L'Oreal have been launching a lot of new brow products as of late, the Brow Artist Plumper is such an amazing brow gel. These are new crayon like pencils with a stiff brush on the other end designed to help blend the product through the brows for a softer more feathered and volumised look. Personally, I like to use a very thin tipped pencil that gives me precision, so I found this didn't work in that regards but it does make filling in the bulk of the brows very easy and quick. The pencil is quite soft and comes off with a lot of pigment so you only need to be light with it. There are three shades available; Blonde, Light Brunette and Dark Brunette (above).

Infallible Sexy Balm* | NZD $19.99
It wouldn't be a L'Oreal release without some interesting lip products, this time around they have a range of crayon like balms in two finishes, sheer and bold. These are very creamy, the bold formula gives you opaque colour in a comfortable formula, whilst the sheer formula gives you a bit more of a transparent look although they still pack a lot of pigment. The finish is glossy, but not sticky and they feel very moisturising on.

All of these new products can be found on L'Oreal stands. My picks would be the Concealer Palette and the Sexy Balms!

Have you tried any of these new releases yet?
