Each year the M.A.C Christmas/Holiday collections just get better and better, and also bigger. The 2016 Nutcracker Sweet collection is absolutely stunning with so many products available, including singles and a large array of gift sets, all packaged in the pink/purple/gold theme. One of the sets they have is the adorable Lipstick Kits containing 4 popular lipstick shades.
Seriously this packaging is such so amazing; the hot pink, gold and black is so on point. The drawer that they are housed in is great for storing other bits and bobs in, such as your lipsticks or even handy as a jewellery box. The Nutcracker Sweet Lipstick Kits comes in 3 colour ways - the Nude (which I have), Pink, and Red. In the 'Pink' set there are the shades; Impassioned (Amplified), Dangerously Red (Matte), Girl About Town (Amplified), and Heroine (Matte). The 'Red' selection has; Lady Danger (Matte), MAC Red (Satin), Diva (Matte), and Rebel (Satin). As you can see these are some of M.A.C's top selling shades and a fantastic way to try out the different shades for yourself, in LE packaging without forking out for the full sized lipstick.
Here is a size comparison to the full size regular lipsticks. The normal lipsticks are 3g (USD $17.00/NZD $40.00), and these minis are 1.8g, which I think is a great amount of product. The sets are USD $35.00 each, or NZD $95.00 working out at around USD $8.75/NZD $23.75 for each mini lipstick.
The 'Nude' selection has it spot on for me and these are shades I wear on a daily basis. I actually own two of these already in the full size (Creme Cup + Whirl), but I love them and having them in LE packaging makes them even better.
The shade selection includes; Creme Cup - light blue pink (cremesheen), Nouvelle Vogue - soft blue pink (matte), Kinda Sexy - neutral pinkyrose (matte), and Whirl - dirty rose (matte). Both of these lipstick formulas I enjoy, the cremesheen is much more comfortable on the lips and non-drying but you do have to touch up, whereas the matte dries down and lasts a good couple of hours, but they can dry out the lips if worn for a long period.
Overall I think if this was under the tree for me I would be a very happy girl! Thanks to my Dad for actually getting this for me while he was in the USA recently (he is very good at makeup shopping for my Sister and I!) This collection is available up until Christmas and is a must try, go in store and get your swatch on! See the full collection here - there is so much to choose from.
Have you got anything from the Nutcracker Sweet range? What nude lipstick would be your pick?
