MOST LOVED | August '16 - CassandraMyee

Can you honestly believe that it is the end of August? I have heard people starting to talk about Christmas already and it is slightly freaking me out, slash slightly exciting me! August was a busy ol' month for me, if you want to catch up on what I've been up to, I wrote a little post about it last week - read it here. I originally thought that I wasn't going to have many loved products this month but when I looked through, there were some standouts, so here they are.

MUD Eyeshadow Palette in Nudes*
I was sent a few MUD (Make-Up Design) products last month and didn't quite know what to expect from them. They are very affordable (between $3 and $12), and you never know with cheaper products what the quality would be like. As soon as I swatched this five pan neutral palette, I knew I would love it. The shades are stunning and exactly what I like to wear on a daily basis. The pigmentation is really great and they blend well too. At $12, this palette is a steal and I haven't stopped using it! Swatches to come in a post featuring the other MUD products I was sent to try.

Daiso Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown
I'm a big brow person, the rest of my makeup can look like crap (well to an extent), but if my brows look good I'm happy. I bought this on a whim while browsing through Daiso, where everything is either $3.50, or you can get 3 for $10. Side note, they also sell the best soap for cleaning your makeup sponges. I've been using this for over a month now and really enjoying it. The formula is stiff and not too pigmented so you can build it up and define the brows. The tip isn't as thin as I would like, but it does the job well and keep my brows looking pretty good.

Maybelline Master Conceal by Face Studio Camouflaging Concealer in 10 Fair*
This is one of their new launches to NZ (more on all the amazing products coming next week), and I have been really impressed with it. It is definitely a full coverage concealer and great for covering spots or imperfections on the skin. This shade is also super light and suitable for pale skin tones, it's almost a touch too light for me at the moment, but with some powder, it evens out the colour.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect Volume Mascara in Very Black*
I'd heard a lot of good things about this mascara but hadn't yet tried it. I opened it a few weeks back, used it once but found the formula didn't quite work for me. I left it for a week or so, and a little bit of drying up certainly helped - now I love it! The brush has an interesting curve to it which helps to get right at the base of the lashes and curls them upwards. I don't find this smudges or flakes either, giving my lashes lenght and volume.

Clinique City Block Purifying Charcol Clay Mask + Scrub* | RRP $67.00
I meant to include this in my July Most Loved but it skipped my mind until I was writing up the post, but this definitely deserves a mention as I (and my skin!) have been loving it. I enjoy charcoal/mud masks in the first place as it really helps my oily/combo/acne prone skin. This one from Clinique is perfect. It comes in a squeezy tube (so much easier than pots), it applies like a normal clay mask but turns to a grey/blue once it is ready to be removed. It has small, abrasive scrubby bit in it, so when you remove it, it deeply cleans and cleanses the skin to removes dirt and impurities. I think if you have sensitive skin this might be too intensive but normal to oily, I would really recommend it.

essie Nail Polish in Virgin Snow*
I know I blogged about these on Monday (see the Winter Collection and swatches here), but you know I love there entire range. This new shade is a beautiful pale lavender that I have really enjoyed wearing on my nails lately. It's a great formula from a brand I love.
