THE BODY SHOP | British Rose Collection - Review + Swatches

THE BODY SHOP | British Rose Collection - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

Calling all The Body Shop fanatics, today a new range has been released into stores in NZ - the beautiful British Rose collection. With Mother's Day on the way (8th of May, just in case you might have forgotten), this collection is packed with amazing products that I'm sure your Mum (or any other lady in your life) will be so appreciative to receive.

THE BODY SHOP | British Rose Collection - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

The British Rose collection is a large one and contains a great range of body care products as well as some lovely makeup bits too. The roses used in this range are grown in the British countryside town of Herefordshire, after which they are hand-picked, air-dried and infused into fresh mountain water on site to then be used in the products. Rose can be a polarising scent; however, I find this to be just the right level of rosiness. It's not too flowery or sickly, and it still has a bit of freshness to it.

I was luckily sent a few of the body care products to try, and they've been a treat to use. The Instant Glow Body Butter* (NZD $36.95) is a great one if you are a fan of the Body Butters - this one is slightly different as it gives your skin an all-over subtle glow whilst also being extremely moisturizing. It's perfect for the cooler months to give your skin a little extra boost. The Instant Glow Body Essence* ($45.00) is for those who prefer a lighter moisturiser. It absorbs into the skin very quickly and is non-greasy, leaving moisturised limbs with a gorgeous glow (one that's not just big bits of glitter!) It wouldn't be a collection without a Shower Gel* ($16.50). The Body Shop Shower Gels are so lovely to use, always rich in scent and foam up well, leaving the skin feeling squeaky clean.

It's nice to see a collection that's not all skin/body care products, plus I really rate The Body Shop makeup products and feel they don't get as much praise as they deserve!

There are seven brand new Lip + Cheek Stains* (NZD $35.50 each) and I was sent the shade Deep Berry 029, which looks quite intense when you first apply it, but it blend out into a rosy pink flush. These are a dual product and can be used on the cheeks as a cream blush/stain, or the lips for a colour that will last throughout the day. I just pop a few dots along my cheeks and either use my fingers or a sponge to blend it out - a little bit is all that's needed to give a decent amount of colour without looking too clowny.

On the lips, it glides on smoothly and can be built up for more opaque colour, but one swipe on the top and bottom lips dries down to a natural stain giving your lips more definition and shape without the need to worry if you have lipstick on your teeth throughout the day.

As well as the Lip + Cheek Stains, there is also a gorgeous looking Special Edition British Rose Eye + Cheek Palette ($59.50) that has two cheek colours and six eyeshadows.

This collection also has one Colour Crush Nail Polish, aptly called British Rose* ($15.95). It's a very light and milky pale pink, that goes onto the nail quite sheer, but can be built up for a bit more opacity. It's a good one if you want more of a light wash of colour, but don't expect it to be fully opaque.

The above shows the other products included in this range, with bath foams to soaps and hand creams. There are also three gifts sets perfect for Mother's Day that range from $30.00 up to $152.00 - a great way to pamper your Mum (or yourself if you want a little treat!) The British Rose range is out online and in-store from today, so get in-store and have a sniff!

What do you think of this new range? Are there any products that take your fancy?
