Strobing, highlighting, whatever you want to call it, is having a huge moment right now. There's not a day goes by when I'm scrolling through my Instagram feed and there's a girl with flawless looking makeup and a highlight so bright and gleaming you could see it from space. I'm not into the heavily highlighted look as my skin is natural glowy (really it's just naturally very oily), but I do enjoy a bit of sheen on the cheekbones. Becca (the highlighting queens) have recently brought out the Afterglow Palette*, that has all you need for an awesome glow.
The packaging of the palette is, as you might expect, stunning. The box has this amazing holographic flake detail all over it, and you know you're in for a treat with what's inside. The palette itself is small and compact, with a bronzey copper outside, and a mirrored interior with the five pans. There are three of their famous Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed and two Mineral Blushes.
The powders are absolutely gorgeous and a dream to use. I have the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop*, so I knew the quality of these was going to be just as amazing. They are buttery beyond belief and go on to the skin almost with a cream like finish. The three Shimmering Skin Perfectors come in the famous shades; Moonstone, Rose Gold and Topaz. Moonstone is my go-to shade as I find it compliments my skin tone the most, whereas I feel Rose Gold and Topaz would work more for those with darker skin tones, but they do make beautiful metallic looking eyeshadows.
Also included are two Mineral Blushes in Wild Honey and Flowerchild. Wild Honey can be used as a bronzer, but it has a slight sheen to it and can lean a bit orange. Plus I find the pan size is too small to really get a good amount on your brush. Flowerchild is a gorgeous blush shade with a golden sheen throughout it. It glides on and blends beautifully.
Although I don't think this palette is an essential, if you are a Becca fan, or love a good glow, this is well worth investing in. Beauty Bliss is currently stocking this limited edition palette for NZD $72.00. For a bit of a price comparison, the full-size powders are around NZD $69.00 each for 8g, and this palette contains 7.4g and you get to try a few different shades of the highlighters, as well as the blushes. And let's be honest who is going to get through a whole powder when a little bit goes a seriously long way with these!
