There's nothing quite like a new M.A.C collection to kick off 2016 and this one is a total beauty. Inspired by the soft pearlescent pinks and creams of a fairy wonderland, the Faerie Whispers collection is enough to make any beauty lover swoon.
The imagery for the collection is absolutely stunning too, M.A.C always nail it with their promotional photos and this one is no exception. The overall limited edition collection is quite small with the line up being: two Beauty Powders (RRP $48.00), eight Foiled Shadows (RRP $50.00 - more on that below), four lipsticks (RRP $40.00), four Cremesheen Glasses (RRP $48.00), two Powder Blushes (RRP $48.00), two Nail Lacquers (RRP $26.00) and two Brushes (RRP $48.00 and $84.00 - more below).
Foiled Shadows in Joy Toy* + Fairy Land* | RRP $50.00 each
The main products in this collection as these gorgeous Foiled Shadows. Designed to be used wet and dry they give a metallic sheen and glitter to the eyes. With eight shades, there will surely be at least one shades that you'll love. Joy Toy is a pink copper and definitely my favourite from the two I was sent. Fairy Land is a warm champagne which gives a sort of wet look to the lids. Packaging wise, they are in the standard black pots, that are slightly larger than the normal single eye shadows and a bit smaller than the standard Powder Blushes. The ripple, silk like effect looks absolutely amazing and definitely got me all heart-eyed over them before I had even used them! Don't go expecting a crazy amount of pigmentation, I find they work well as a light sweep over the eyes, or layered over more pigmented shadows to create a metallic, sheeny lid.
133 Small Cheek Brush* | RRP $84.00
You might find it surprising but I have never used or bought a M.A.C brush before! Now that I was sent this one I really need to get into more M.A.C brushes because this one is so incredibly soft and it feels beautifully made and great quality (as one would hope for $84!) It's quite a flat style brush, with a domed top, and I think it's perfect for highlighter, or if you want a more precise blush placement. You could also use it for contouring too - it's a multi-purpose brush for sure. The one other brush from the collection is the 221 Mini Tapered Blending Brush (RRP $48.00).
This collection was launched in NZ on the 4th of January (Monday) and won't be in stores for long, so if anything grabs your attention you might want to buy it before it's gone!
