Maybelline are hitting it out of the park with their new releases recently and the newest drop making its way into stores this month are absolutely awesome. This release brings with it a lots of coveted products from the US that I am so glad they have brought to NZ (Brow Drama, I'm talking about you!) Here's a run down on some of the newest products and first impressions on them.
Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation in 120 Classic Ivory* | NZD $22.99
I have never used the original Fit Me! Foundation because it's more geared towards dry skin and it has an extremely dewy finish by the sounds of things - so I have avoided it. However, when I heard this foundation was coming out geared towards oily skin, I couldn't wait to try it! It's one of the cheapest foundation that Maybelline offer and I've been really enjoying it. I've only given it a spin a couple of times but first impressions are great. It has medium coverage, doesn't settle into pores or fine lines, and drys down to a matte finish that doesn't transfer. It kept my skin looking matte for a good 4 to 5 hours and didn't go patchy. It also states to have blurring micro-powders in it to blur pores, which I can totally get on board with!
Lash Sensational Mascara in 01 Very Black* | NZD $23.99
I really like Maybelline mascaras and this one looks like it will be really great! I'll do a full review of it once I get through a couple of other mascaras I have open. The wand looks to have quite a similar shape to Benefit's new mascara Roller Lash - so it might be a good dupe!
Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in Medium Brown* | NZD $14.99
I recently bought this from drugstore.com because I had heard such good things about it from UK bloggers and since then I've been absolutely loving it (it featured in my Most Loved May). If you're after something to set the brow hairs and also give a hint of colour - this is one to try out.
Dr. Rescue CC Nails Base Coat*, Gel Effect Top Coat* + All In One* | NZD $8.49 each
I like that Maybelline have expanded the Dr. Rescue range from lip balms to nail care products. I am really excited about these three products - the CC Nails Base Coat is tinted with a colour correcting treatment to whiten the nails, perfect for wearing bare on the nails, the Gel Effect Top Coat is claiming to give that gel nail look to the nails (I will report back), and the All-In-One is a base coat, treatment, and top coat in one (funny that).
Eyeshadow Palette The Nudes | NZD $29.95
FINALLY this palette is getting released in NZ! I've had mine for almost a year and reviewed it with swatches in October last year (see it here). I talk about the quality more in that particular post, but I like the colour range and the shades have really good pigmentation (the mattes however aren't as amazing as the shimmers).
Colour Molten Duos* | NZD $13.99 each
I wasn't even aware that this product existed and it's a really unique one. They have the strangest texture to them and it's really hard to describe; they feel like a cream, but it's quite cooling and the shadow just sort of melt beneath the fingers. The pigmentation is lovely as you can see in the swatches and the two duos I was sent are gorgeous - I can see Endless Mocha being a hit!
Rebel Bloom Lipsticks | NZD $19.99 each
These were released not too long ago in the States as part of a Spring collection and the colours definitely lend themselves to the Spring/Summer seasons. I actually bought Blushing Bud in a haul from drugstore.com I did in May (here), and was sent Orchid Ecstasy* + Rose Rush*. These have a creamy texture, with colour that can be applied quite sheer or built up. The colours in the range are really vibrant and the purple tube isn't going to get lost in your handbag!
There are also other products being released that I wasn't sent, they include - Great Lash Impact Mascara ($14.99), Face Studio Master Sculpt (I can't wait to try this, $19.99), Brow Precise (pencil + grooming brush, $14.99), and Brow Satin (precise pen and filling duo, $14.99). They will be rolled out during July, so any good Maybelline stockist should have the new products. There are so many I am excited about, especially the Rebel Bloom Lipsticks, Lash Sensational Mascara and of course, the Brow Drama!
What products have you got your eyes on? Have you tried any yet?
