When Soultime contact me and asked if I wanted to try out a selection of their natural skincare products, I jumped at the chance. Not only do I love supporting NZ companies, I enjoy trying skincare products, especially those from New Zealand who use natural ingredients. I was sent four products from the range to try and I've been giving them a test run over the past month or so, and I've come to really like the products.
Exfoliating Cleanser with Citrus, Ylang-Ylang + Bamboo* | NZD $32.50
I love a good scrub and this one doesn't disappoint. I would say for sensitive skins that this might be a bit harsh, but for other skin types it should be really lovely. I like to use this at least three times a week to give my skin a deep cleanse, and it's packed with micro scrubbing particles in it to get deep into pores. It doesn't leave my skin feeling excessively dried out after using, but instead deeply cleansed and soft. The only downside with this product is the packaging, which I like the look of, but you can't squeeze the bottle, so it takes a bit to shake out the cleanser. It's only a small issue though and nothing to do with the actual quality of the cleanser inside.
Pomegranate + Borage Serum* | NZD $29.50
This serum is aimed at mature skin, although would be a dream for dry skins too. My skin is oily/combination in parts and I can get weird dry patches on the outer areas of my cheeks. I focus a small amount of this serum on these areas after cleansing and toning to help hydrate and lock in moisture. It doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy either and works really well with the moisturiser (below).
Orange + Honey Lip Balm* | NZD $15.00
I've made quite the dent in this lip balm and can see I'll be out of it very soon! The orange scent is lovely and I use it every night, and when I wake up in the morning I can still feel it on the lips - this is good stuff! It's a solid consistency, that needs warming up with fingers and it becomes a light oil on the lips.
Pomegranate + Borage Replenishing Moisturiser* | NZD $49.50
Used on it's own or in conjunction with the serum, this is perfect for drier skins and I can see that it would be amazing for mature skins, as suggested. Even though I don't quite fit into the 'mature skin' category, I still enjoy using this, especially as a night cream as it is on the slightly heavier side. I have used this during the day a few times when I felt my skin was a bit lack lusted and it definitely brought it in the moisturising department and sat well under makeup.
Overall I really like the products I was sent to try out, and it's lovely to try a brand I probably wouldn't have heard about otherwise! They craft the items in small batches, and use a wide selection of all natural ingredients, including beautiful natural aromatherapy oils. As well as the skincare, they also have body care products for men and women, and a baby range too. They can be purchased online from Soultime, and from what I can see they only ship within New Zealand.
