I feel like I've been waiting for yonks for the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils* (could you get a longer name?) to get their NZ release. It seemed like years had gone by since I was reading about these things on the UK blogs, but finally, they are here, and they are blimen' good.
Matte lips are my finish of choice so I knew I was really going to like these ones. They come housed in pencils (much smaller/shorter than I expected for some reason), that need a jumbo sharpener to sharpen them (a little bit of a pain, but I can live with that). These are crazy pigmented and creamy in just one swipe, but after a little while on the lips they do start to dry down and that makes them last pretty much all day, with a little touch up here and there. The pencil point makes them easy to apply and you can get quite precise with them (great for the bolder shades) and there is a beautiful selection of colours. I have In With Coral, a vibrant coral pink, and Light It Up, a true classic red.
I'm already eyeing up a few of the other shades, and to be honest at NZD $11.99 a pop these are a complete steal and I could easily end up with the whole collection if I can't hold myself back... You can find them at any Maybelline stand, or online via. Beauty Bliss (free shipping nationwide).
