Lipsticks don't come more luxe then YSL ones. I mean just seriously look at that beautiful tube! I thought owning a YSL lipstick would be well out of my reach, purely due to the price here in NZ that I could not justify for one lipstick, but when I luckily won a Smith & Caughey's voucher it was the perfect time to make the splurge, and as they say on Parks & Rec 'Treat Yo Self!'
I gotta say it was a difficult choice because the colour range is just amazing and I could have happily walked away with the lot (but couldn't anyone?!) I tried on a few but immediately feel in love with particular shade, 01 Nude Beige. It is basically the colour I always tend to reach for, so I know that I will wear it a whole bunch (but I've actually been to scared to use it lots because I don't want to run out of it!)
This is from their standard lipstick range, Rouge Volupté Silky Sensual Radiant Lipsticks with SPF 15, and they also have the Rouge Volupté Shine (more sheer and glossy, same packaging) and the Volupté Sheer Candy (more balmy and sheer colour, same packaging but with a silver tube). The formula of these is out of this world, it glide on super creamy with the exact same opacity and colour that it looks like in the tube. To be honest it's not like any other lipstick I've tried before and I now understand the high price tag and that luxe feeling you get when you use it, I just get it! This has become a treasured piece of makeup in my collection and I love just staring at the damn beautiful gold tube sitting in my lipstick holder!
These have a price tag of NZD $65, but if you are in the US (lucky you) they are USD $35.00.
Do you have a YSL lipstick in your collection? If so, what shade? Because lordy, I want some more!
